Blaster Fix up!

You stock is like as soft as it goes, and it's like sitting on a rock. 8-|

And my seals are leaking so i need a new one anyway.

And what do you think for fronts? I know Banshee and Raptors fit, which is better?

Banshee ones will fit, bolt on. Raptor ones I think are a little too long to be a bolt on set. Here's my 2 cents; either save your money and buy a decent set of Works shocks OR, get a shock relocation kit for 80 bucks and you'll have a lot more options as far as front shock sizing. Yzf450, raptor660, 400ex, trx450r, will all fit with the kit. I have one and I'm running 400ex shocks front and rear. Great improvement over stock I gotta say. LOok here and on eBay and check all your options before you decide. It's all a question of how much you wanna spend and what type of riding style.

Aren't relocation kit's risky for jumping? And how do those work? Bolt on brackets? Or is welding and fabrication needed?

They work good for me. I changed out the brass spacers for 4130 Molly tubing instead. All the hardware is grade 8. No welding, all bolt on. I jump it quite a bit, no issues, doesn't loosen up a bit. Then again I put red loctite on everything anyway. I can't say how it would hold up in mx or Huge jumps(I mean HUGE!) but I have no complaints. Like I said, it depends on what You plan to do. Look into some works shocks also.

Alright, whats the difference between Front Shocks Without Reservoirs, and ones with them?

And man do they cost a pretty penny!

Since I've been just pretty much using this thread for questions, i have another one.

You know when people put like the clear glass in their air boxes, for like a window? Anyone have a DIY for that? Or have any information on how to do it?

R u talking about blasterforum30 he put in plexiglass lass I believe and all u would have to do is get some of tht and cut your hole and screw it in

As some of you might know, I had my Top end rebuilt by Ken, And shes now back in my possession. :D

The only engine problem i had after that was a slight leak in my Crank Cases.

I have fixed that leak, the Ghetto way.

I know it probably won't hold for a long time. But i plan on working my ass off this summer to do a full rebuild ( Other than the top end of course ) So it will be Fixed in time. I will be slowly building this quad along the way, this probably won't be the most active thread but i though i'd fill you guys in.

If you have a leaky crankcase, do not even dream of fitting your fresh top end to it.

You are courting disaster. Kens work deserves more respect!

i really hope u dont plan on running a fresh top end on that?? ur asking for disaster, air leaks are the #1 killer to any 2 stroke, that and idiots. if its leaking out of the crank area you are losing compression of the fuel air mixture because its pushing it out the case instead of compressing it fully. A 2 stroke compresses the fuel air mixture below the piston before it gets sucked up above the piston to be burned if u have an air leak on the engine u will in turn run the engine hotter, leaner causing possible scarring of the cylinder u just had redone or u could just have a catastrohpic failure and find urself pushing ur bike due to heat ceasing it, do a leakdown test and see if it holds 7 psi for 3-4 hrs, if not then u need to find the leak and fix the leak.do not ride the bike the way it is otherwise u are asking for problems then u just wasted the money to have it fixed u probably need to split the cases and see whats goin on, god only knows when the last time its been done.

also if u need a rear shock i have a 450r shock for sale with the bolt and the bushings.

That saves one heck of a lot of typing, I can only comment on one thing.

A leak down test only has to hold 7psi for 10 minutes.
