Wider rear stock front?

Are there any ddownsides to widening the rear of the quad but not the front? Will it change the handling characteristics any?

It could make it a little trikey, the front wheels wanting to roll under more, but I could be wrong I have never tried it.

my thoughts exactly, 3 wheeler fun! plus you will end up bumping off everything because you will fit your front between 2 rocks and then whack, the back will clip. Ideally both should be the same, or very close to it

I always like to have my front a little wider then the back

My son had his Blaster this way for a while with a Banshee axle.
No problem what-so-ever.

He is running lengthened front hub studs at the moment and there is some pull and tug when you hit things.

from my experience it will make your wheeler push hard around the corners. If you get a wider axle get wider a arms and stay away from wheel spacers. All the stupid things do it put added stress on you wheel bearings spindles and ball joints. Same with flipping your rims.

Actually, the wider rear axle makes the wheeler push slightly harder around the corners.
Widening the front made no noticeable difference in turn radius (didn't measure but effectively) or effort.
He did add the wheel spacers to the front, I told him the same thing, but no problems so far.
This is not to say he might have to change wheel bearings more often or have a breakage, but not yet.
Adding width did add some stability with very little problems. Still turns sharp, still wiggles through the narrow spots.
There is theory and reality. The extra stability was very real, the problems were theory...
