Choppy past 1/2 throttle

Hello everyone, I just finished a bottom end tear down and after the first start everything seemed perfect, idle was good, throttle response was good. But when I drive it, it is very choppy past 1/2ish throttle. Took the carb apart and cleaned everything, no change. Has a fmf pipe with a 260 main, everything else is stock.
Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Was it properly running and jetted before you tore in to it? Have you done a pressure and vacuum test? It sounds like a leak or ignition issue.

Thanks for the reply!
It ran pretty good prior, besides the air leak it had. It had a 230 main jet before aswell, but after reading FMF recommendation and other forum posts I decided to try a 260. However I haven’t plug chopped it yet.
It passed a leak down test after the rebuild.

So you went from a 230 to a 260 during the rebuild with no other modifications? Is the machine stock except for the pipe? What's your elevation? It sounds like you may be rich which is the preferred method towards finding the right tune because it's safer for the engine than running too lean. If you have some run time from breaking it in you can probably look at the plug to verify it's too rich already, save the plug chop and high-speed running for when it's close to fully tuned. There are good videos on YouTube for two stroke carb tuning, I can't find the exact one I'm looking for but I'll post again if i find it. This one might be a good starting point:

Correct, no other changes were made. And yes completely stock besides pipe. After watching the video I do agree it’s probably too rich, I’ll drop it down and see how it responds. Current elevation is ~900ft, where I typically ride is ~1250ft. Once again, thank you for the help!
