i had to make a post about this. i bought a blaster from a genuine idiot and heres all of his mistakes i had to fix so far:

every bearing was blown
front shocks totaled
said it had oil block off, all he did was cut the hoses to the pump
Aarms shot
clutch cable broken
only half of tors removed
had to rewire EVERYTHING
no gasket installed on parking brake plate
NO oil in trans
almost all gaskets bad
no coupler on exhaust
ripped air filter
no air box cover and never rejetted
carb adjusted wrong
no chain guides or rollers
terrible welds on old grab bar and shift lever
cracked back plastics
all plastic reinforcement bars removed
only half of parking brake removed
broken kill switch
cracked rear swingarm
tires ran flat messing up beads
crappy spray painting on most parts
crazy low compression
busted reeds

most of these things i either fixed or replaced

Bahahahahaha, did you buy my old sky-blue 1994 Blaster with a red cylinder head? JK, I sold it years ago. But the first one I bought also had a list a mile long of stuff I found wrong with it. Live and learn!

The way I see it, now you know how to replace or repair just about every issue and/or normal-wear part there is on a Blaster. Hope you got it cheap; I threw away $ 900.00 on my first one and NEVER got it back....Beyond pissed but what are ya gonna do?...I sold it for $ 500.00 and just counted my losses.

how much you looking for the swinger? and yeah im really happy that i did learn alot about it it just sucks how much stuff i had to do to it. i bought it for 900, not too bad and have put in about 200 so far

Yeppers same thing here. Heres a good ol' list:
Cracked swinger
All bushings gone in front end
Carrier Bearrings gone
More plug than rubber
Low Compression
Rigged wiring
And it goes on, and on. But now I can have my wheeler to bear frame in 45 minutes and back together again in quick too. But sometimes the stuff just piles up and their circumstances don't allow them to fix it and they need to get rid of it. Sometimes they don't tell you whats wrong because if you knew you would light it on fire. lol

i also have some stock parts you can buy. i have a good set of top a-arms and a swingarm. also some electronics pm what you need and ill let you know. any way pics?

sounds like you got hosed but so did I when I got mine but all you can do is make the best of it and now you will know everything there is to know about your blaster. plus you get the chance to build one bad a** machine just the way you eant it to get built

Sometimes you catch a break and get a killer deal too. I bought a 1989 that had been sitting for 2 years because the owner said it lost power. When I went to look at it there was no spark. When I got it home I noticed the on/off switch on the headlight switch was in the off position. Switched it to run and had spark. Fresh gas and and oil change and it fired up on the forth kick. Picked up another 1996 that the owner said needed a new head gasket. Took off the gas tank and 2 of the five nuts on the head bolts were missing and 2 of the other ones were finger tight. Replaced the missing nuts and torqued everything to specs and no more leaks. LUCKY sometimes.........
