Ok so I know all the safety stuff and the tools but I would like to know some of other people's welding tecqunikes.< I think that's how it's spelled. This mite be a new Job for me and is completely different from my current one. I've done welding before at shop class and in the garage but nothing like I'd have to do.

depends what you are doin? what are you welding? what are you welding with? lot of stuff ur leavin out...not one technique will work for everything, all depends on materials, welder, welding rod/wire, shielding gas, are you welding on a table or are you hanging gerters 20 stories in the air?

That is FARRRRR to vague an application to offer any meaningful assistance.

I mean you're talking about using all three of the arc type welders in two different scenarios....

yeah man we need more, also your material ur welding all metals are vastly different, cant weld stainless steel the same way you would weld mild steel or cast iron and so on

simple as this... get your self a buch of scrap metals diff types and thickness... and have at it, you will learn quickly what works and what dont, and technique is learned and yours will be differant than the next guys

You have different procedures for every type of welding. Body work, manufacturing, repairing, hard facing and general fabbing. I do all of mine with my Miller 225. I know, not a huge welder but I can fix up to 1 1/2" steel. Let us know what you are planning.

Arc. And mig welding on steel like the best angle to hold the gun at and wat would be the best settings for wire speed and power outage for both. Wanna try to have a good impression when I first get there

As stated before, all materials & applications are different.
If you're trying to make a good impression, be honest, just say you've welded before, but have never done anything in a professional setting but would be eager for a chance to learn.
Meanwhile, look at this....

Types of Welding Electrodes

Stick welding/arc, depends on rod used!so its kinda hard to say but for mig,the wire speed and amps are in a juggle, keep this in mind though low heat/low wire speed. High heat/higher wire speed. Not trying to sound like a know it all/just trying to help!blasterdad def had the best answer though!

Dude a know it all is accepted lol

If you have a welder or can use one, at least practice with some 6013. If you can't at least lay down a bead you won't get your foot in the door. Be sure to be "dressed" for work if you apply/test, boots (preferably steel toe) helmet, gloves at the least.
