You have the gear and nut on too, right? Won't seal without them.

Im working on porting my cylinder atm. I got the exhaust and tranfers where i want em and started the intake but I cant figure out how to get the faces of the intake smooth. anyone have any suggestions. I cleaned up the walls and started to make the wedge but the flats are stumping me. i just wanna smooth em out a little and get rid of the rest of thats black stuff that keeps flaking off everywhere.
