Hi everyone
I am about to make an offer (hopefully) on a used 96 Blaster and was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect when I test ride. How much power should it have. For example should it pull the front wheels easy (in what gears) Are there any common issues I should be looking for?
The seller tells me its stock with a recent top end rebuild and new wheel bearings.
Thanks for any input it's much appreciated!!
BTW A little about me... I am an old guy getting back into off roadin' (I am an ex armature MX racer) because my kids are at the age where they can start to participate (PW50 & baby raptor)
Thanks again and cheers everybody!!

in first and second gear and possibly 3rd the wheels should come up fairly easily, mainly first, its got mean power for a little quad, mine was just a step slower than my honda 400ex

with a little work and some aftermarket parts like pipe filter reeds stroker porting and the list goes on....these little machines can flllllllllllllly

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say thanks for your input!
I bought the little blaster for $650 which included an extra set of rear tires mounted and on hubs. This little machine is impressive considering its small powerplant. My only complaint is the noise, I plan to ride it with my kids on old logging trails and don't want to upset my neighbors. Anyone know how to quiet this thing down even if it means a horsepower penalty? I saw an ad for a DBsnorkelThe dB Snorkel anyone tried this thing on their blasters?
Once again, thanks!
Larry
PS It has an FMF pipe & silencer on it.

Well, You could take the fmf of and buy a stock exhaust to put on this will quiten it down a fair bit but you will loose some power.
That dB Snorkel is quite intresting i have never seen one and i dont think anyone runs one around here. But they look fairly good and and if the statistics are acturally what they show its great.

if you buy a toomey pipe (its a bit louder makes more power) but main point they make a hush thing you put on the end of the silencer might make it quiteter but.. go back to stock if you want it quieter though

i think fmf makes a silencer its one of the quietes its like an fmf Q and plus you can get a spark arestor too to quiet it down that q should bring it around stock tho and you still have the fmf power

like any bike if you want it to be slow and restrictive put a factory spark arrsteror on it...,,,i ran a power pros pipe with a pro circuit silencer....worked great and was not very loud..maybe try that silencer..if thats too loud idk bro.
