trading my banshee

the trx450 is the cheapest of the 450s, reason being, it doesn't have anything nice on it. the shocks really aint the good, the engine isn't that strong powerwise.

as for the HRC kit
The TRX450R Kicker Gets a HRC Upgrade: Off-Road.com
after reading that page, i am not sure if they mean 50hp stock or 50hp with the kit. 50hp with the kit might sound correct. but stock, the 450r doesn't make 50hp.

Not sure about your banshee but stock the 450 is better. Honda made the 450 cheap because they believed people would swap out the stock stuff anyways so why put costly parts on it

I dunno man. You want to trade your banshee for something that is even more expensive to modify? You say you dont want to spend money on go fast bits for the banshee, but you want to trade for something that costs an arm and a leg more to maintain, and buy parts for.

I dunno man. If I were you, Id keep me banshee and save up for my MX bike, but there are quite a few times you will prefer the banshee to the 4 stroke.

I ride a banshee in the woods often. I ride one up at 10000 feet up craggy rocky terrain. Its piped with toomeys and it is boggy, you just gotta ride it a certain way and you can keep it up in its powerband.

And once I hit a dirt road that opens up a bit that thing is a slingshot. It just GOES. No 4 stroke short of a crazy modded one could keep up with me rallying down a dirt/gravel road in that thing. It just HAULS ASS.

And I think quite a bit to those things is in your tires. If you have MX tires, youll have great dirt traction, but you may not have the best traction on a trail or in gravel. If you get a good overall trail tire, youd be amazed at what it will do for you.

I dunno. Me and a banshee get along. I like the way they ride. I know there are better trail quads, but nothing sounds and feels like one.

Im torn between one and a 250r. Im not sure if Id trade a shee for a 250r tho if I already had a shee.

But I dont mx either. So I have mixed feelings about it.

It would be cool if you could just have em both.

if you just have a piped banshee, a 450 will easily keep up with you.

the thing about the 450, it wont destory your body as fast as a banshee. the banshee sucks for stock suspension.

Ill give you the thing about kicking your ass. Not sure about a 450 without mods keeping up with a properly piped/jetted banshee. Toomey T5s dyno out around 50-55hp on an otherwise stock bike. Stock YFZ450 dynos out somewhere around 40-45. Its about 30 lbs lighter. The banshee I ride has Toomey T5s and it runs strong as hell. Ive raced every other banshee Ive ridden with in our group and im bigger than all of the other guys and I still pull out on them. So this thing could have some unknown mod (buddy bought it from a guy who had it set up for the dunes, but he told us the engine was stock other than the pipes), or its just those pipes. I do know nobody else we ride with has Toomey T5s on theirs. But I guess I digress. This is neither here nor there for Novis.

A Banshee will kick your ass on trails thats for sure. The things just beat you up.

I kinda like that tho too. Riding that thing is a farkin workout :p

I dunno. I guess Im just loyal to my 2 strokes. This is why I wanna go rip around on a 250r. Never ridden one. I dont know anyone who has one. I know I want one, but Id like to ride one first. Give one a good thrashing around in the dirt. See how it works for me.

I WILL be upgrading to something other than my Blaster. Ive decided its just too small for me. I like it. Im keeping it for another season or 2, but I have plans to get it upgraded. Currently I have my mind set on a Banshee or a 250r. I MIGHT get a 400ex, but I dunno.

So let us know what you do end up going with Novis, and how you feel about it.

i had a 400ex, i liked it but it just wasn't enough power for me really. plus it being air cooled sucked.
have one banshee, a 404 with stock suspension, it has some power but it beats me up.
my other banshee is a ported one with some money into the suspension, still needs a back shock, but the front rides 100x better.
a stock suspension banshee is one of the worse rides ever, besides a blaster. they need money invested into the suspension to be good. motor wise, the banshee is one of the best ever. i enjoy the lightspeed switch they come with lol.

Did you Canadians have your money go down in value again? (at one point it was worth more than ours for a bit)

Around here 450rs are selling for 2500-3k all day long.

Banshees are a bit cheaper on average tho.

Youre defiantely getting your trades worth going with the 450r. Thats for sure. I guess later on if you decided you wanted another shee, you could just sell the 450r and buy another one right?

5 cents on the dollar... Not that big of a deal. Thats quite a bit of inflation there. Difference in monetary value is like 150 bucks on a 3000 dollar quad.

You guys get raped. 4500 is like.. 2008 YFZ 450 territory down here.

wait he wants to give you money and the 450 for your banshee??? i say do it, to be honest a banshee isn't worth more than 3K

i told him i would give him a brand new set of paddle tires i just picked up for snow becuase hes looking to trade for a sled or 4x4 so figured he might go for it. i got 2 new paddle tires for $80 the other day. SWEET DEAL lol
