The build has begun!

i like the cardboard based ones....lmao

E slap #2....:o

I screwed up my inner hub on my clutch last night. Note to self: Get better torque wrench. Broke a bolt off in it....started drilling it out and was like....well this gives me reason to buy an upgraded clutch basket and clutches. Oh the excuses we make...

That's what i was thinkin'.....

I'm doing the fine details now. Clutch arm, spring, and washer glass bead blaster

Freekman...

When you start doing it again, well let me back up....do you make magneto covers? If so, I'd love to have one custom made along with the sprocket guard. I wanna powder coat them in the orange i decided to go with, but polish them up first with the glass bead, then shoot the transparent over that. I am gonna strip my clutch cover and glass bead blast that, and do the same to it. The black covers just don't get it...

Where can i find magneto covers that are chrome?

havnt checked this out in a while. Spent an hour reading it all... This is bitchin! That motor is freaking sweet! Ya the clutch cover looks sweet in polished aluminum! You can paint the Yamaha letters and wet sand the excess then polish up. Looks sweet. I just repolished mine again cause i hal assed it the last time. Man i wish i could find a write up like this on warrior cases, i got mine tore down now.sucks!.. Keep up the good work, lookin bad ass!!!

Thanks man! I am actually blasting my clutch sidecase as we speak. Got a little more to go. I'm going over it once with about 100PSI with the glass bead, then i'll hit it again with about 50PSI. That should shine it up a little for the transparent orange to look great on it. I amso got my Magneto on and torqued to 53 ft. lbs. I found out, to get the site glass out of the sidecase, just put a socket on it just big enough, then lightly tap it and it falls right out. This is so i don't damage it blasting. I also glass bead polished all 3 of my spark plugs, degreased them, and they look brand new now. I also blasted my kickstart too. I'm gonna go with the orange on that as well. or, maybe clear coat it. Not sure yet. Just getting all ready to be coated, then it's assembly time! I'm going with a better clutch basket, inner hub, pressure plate, and clutches. By the time I'm done, the only thing not new looking is going to be the plastics.

Yeh that orange....candy transparent. not the darker burnt color. Once it's all tore down, i'm gonna grind off the things that don't need to be on there, Then mock up the hydros and weld all things to it. Then i'm gonna weld up the bushing to the CFM airbox, then get it as polished as i can, and lay the transparent on that. I figure I'm gonna have to do the steering stem while i'm at it too. Well the compressor just built up so back down i go....I'll have pics up here in a few...

I would YB....but I'm gonna get that case a little more shinier and then go with that orange. I'm gonna get a magneto cover that's chrome and do that in orange as well. probably do the reed spacer in orange as well.

This thing is really clean...I am going to tear down the a-arms and what not and do them next. I thought about doing the clutch cable engagement thing in that orange too.

For now i gotta save for them clutches and new basket. Then i'm gonna fix that ebay swingarm and gusset the hell out of it and probably do it in the orange as well.

305....Yeh I'll get that oven up here soon and start ordering my powder. I also gotta order some of that cylinder wall treatment stuff that helps keep the cylinder walls slick and reduce ring wear. Also looking at some things to coat inside the head and cylinder to keep it running cooler too. Gonna ceramic clear coat the exhaust to keep it cool and rust free. Still a long ways to go....but it's getting there! By summer...it's gonna be TOTALLY different
