pipe

FMF Fatty. I do ALL my riding in the trails, except gravel roads and fields to get to a trail. It has alot of bottom end, and a great midrange. The topend pull is fine for me as I only have experience with the factory pipe and the FMF. Im very happy with my pipe though. The powerband is exactly where i want it. Honestly the quality control lacks a little bit though. You can tell the stamped pieces were not aligned perfectly when welded. However, it is made with thick enough material and the welds look good. It has discolored clost to the flange and almost to the fat part of the pipe but it is a pretty gold color with some blueish purplish places buy i think it looks awesome. Its a great pipe for trails in my opinion but somebody more experienced on here should give you more insight into other pipes for trail use. (the search button would have answered your question too lol)

Anything other than stock or DG! FMF is popular, Toomey is also, procircut I've hear good things about- then ya have your right bends, power pros, F7, CT... I've had a, Power pros and now a toomey, Love then both, The right bends have a little more top end, Toomey hits harder and earlier than the power pros did and stays there through the whole pipe to the top.

For excellent low/mid power DMC Alien, comparable, maybe slightly better than a Fatty but much better fit up, no leaks.

Great sounding pipe, listen for yourself.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

The DMC Alien is built with very high quality standards! It fits PERFECTLY and does NOT leak. No spring loaded flange here! The finish is also very tough and does not discolor easily. It works awesome with an "Agressive Desert" port and re-chambered head. Phenominal combination!

You can also remove the head WITHOUT even touching the pipe.

Nothing pulls good on the trails like a Toomey!!! I had a pro-circuit at one time too and thought it was pretty good also. FMF..... Meh, DG sucks!! I have yet to try a DMC. Its on my list to try but I doubt it will win me over on the Toomey.

People Keep Ragging on the DG , Well its not Worse than Stock , So do not rule it out If you can Find one for Cheap , Its About 6 Lbs Lighter than Stock and Does work well For being Cheaply Priced Used !

One of mine came with a DG system. After hearing how much the DG systems suck I jumped on a buy it now FMF system for $117 shipped. Looking very forward to getting the POS DG off and the FMF on. With the FMF my stock Blaster felt weaker bottom to top. I was running a 280 main, K&N filter with no lid at 1600' ASL. Here is a thread I started asking for people who had tested a DG back to back with other systems http://www.blasterforum.com/exhaust-137/who-has-used-dg-exhaust-system-49920/
I thought as much DG bashing I've seen here that some of the bashers would have had at least used rode a DG. The couple that did post had positive things to say and the guy who set his system on fire to clean it out probably had problems that no exhaust system would have cured. There is no way I would pay the new price I see the DG's listed for on ebay but with a full DG and a full FMF system laying there to choose from, I'm happy with the DG.

Ive road a DG blaster. Basically the same but sounded better. Also the DG will plug chop fine with a 230 stock main jet. Explain that against a FMF or other piper which require a larger main jet maning that they flow more air which we all know means more power.

wwholden, The way I'm taking what you are saying is that since stock jetting is fine for a DG system, it can't be making any more power than the stock pipe. Since the jetting stays spot on, the flow must not be changing. Where as, with another manufacturers system a larger main jet is required to match that systems increased flow. That sounds like an absolutely logical assessment to me. You also said that you have ridden a Blaster with a DG (I'm assuming full system) that was basically same but sounded better. I have no reason to doubt anything you are saying but where we differ is I rode the same Blaster with no other change except the exhaust system (an FMF and DG) on back to back days and the DG felt stronger than the FMF. Your logic is sound, and I'm sure your assessment of the Blaster is accurate, but did you ride that Blaster with the stock or another brand aftermarket exhaust within a 24 hour period of riding it with a DG? My real point is that although many people are quick to say DG is not worth having, few of them are basing the statement from nothing more than what they read, were told or assumed from DG not wanting to include their system in the published exhaust shootout. I'm new to quads but have ridden 2 stroke mx bikes here in the mountains of east Tennessee since before you were born. Back before power valved engines, all the bikes had was top end. Maybe what triplecrown said and my keep the engine spinning and the clutch slipping riding style is why the pipe felt better for me. Maybe my DG is older and of a different design that the current ones sold (mine was a "works" finish, bare metal and not the plated ones being sold today), I don't know. I clearly said "on my bike" the DG felt stronger. I feel your post was intended to discredit the results I have gotten, with my set up. For whatever reason, the accounts of my results was accurate and true. In the thread I started to ask for others experience of going to and from DG systems from other stock or aftermarket systems no one posted any real accounts of DG living up to their reputation of being worthless. With as many times it's posted the DG's aren't any better than stock, you would think there would have been many members posting their stories. And just so no one misses it, there is no way I would pay $300 for a DG system, nor an FMF or DMC. Depending on the engine I would spend a little more and go with the Toomey, CT or Trinity.

Actually I had a blaster with a stock pipe on it at the time of running the DG. Side by side in my garage. They felt exactly the same. Maybe a little more crisp. The stock and DG are very similar pipes that do not affect the power curve.

I only do trail riding and have both the fmf and pro circuit.. To me the pro circuit feels better then the fmf all the way through.. Great trail pipe..Id love to try the toomey though..
