Just picked up a beat up ol girl real cheap.Bent frame ,blown clutch,It was yellow and some PO painted it blue.
Looking forward to learning all there is here.I recently went thru my Road bike and it's runnin tip top.85 Suzuki GS1150.now onto the blaster.
Gonna cut out the bent tubing and weld in hexagon Tubeing.Replace clutch and run it propper. It runs strong and i suspect a rebuild on it once already,no clue what year it is,no title.
Just wanna check out what simple things i can do for a lil more power?Maybe remove box lid and baffle and up the jetting?would it be worth it?Or just keep it stock?Gonna go right thru this with maintenance like i did my bike,This Blaster has been neglected in the maintenance deaprtment i think ,lol.
When i get time i will do some searches and post questions, peace!!I:I

Welcome to the forum. Its not worth messing around with the stock exhaust. Just leave it stock till you can mod it properly. Removing the air box cover will require a larger jet. If the quad has been neglected I highly recommend a leakdown test. Where are you located in New York, as you can see I am from Rochester.

Queensbury, north of Labany 40 minutes.I havn't gotten to it yet,i have a leakdown and comp. tester.Bought it for the Suzuki,The GS forum is set up identival to here.I learned a boat load and then some from those guys.
Rumor has it there i a guy local with a garage pack fyll of blaster parts. My first order of businss is just to Get the clutch in and get the frame straight and do the maintenance,From prior experience i just want a good baseline to start from.Jetting is the easy part for me after reworking 4 carbs with pipe n pods on the Zuki hehe.

Welcome to the forum , Once you start modding the blasty you will notice the improvements over stock ! , These little motors respond well with a good Exhaust and fine tuned carb !

i would just start tearing that thing apart and fixing things, look for parts on ebay and memebers on this forum sell things in the forsale thread. you should take apart the cylinder and look for any deep scratches or cracks in the cylinder.

Cutting measuring and welding, frame repairs today, clutch on tuesday, then comp.test, wanna do it wrmed up,numbers are funky then i will tear it down.Plug chops will be a breeze compared to doin them on my Gs1150,I'll try n get some pics up today, just wanna cut n weld n straighten right now hehe.
Thanx for the warm welcomes also.Already have hours of research here to go with,What a great site,Much like my GS resources forum.Got the repair manual d/l'd already

Picked up a parts blaster today ,$100.all the parts i need n then some, pretty much everything minus top end and carb, nice plastics, nerf bars, full suspension with good bearings and a-arm bushings. doing a frame off now i guess, sux i can't do anything unless it is 100%.oh well.worth it in the and i will be proud, just like my gs1150.but less time and much less money, woot woot.git'r done.
