might get a banshee

I wouldn't give a lot for it. It looks to be a j arm frame with a blown motor. And remember a banshee takes 2 of everything lol

Not a bad deal, though I've seen better. I've owned a couple J-arm Banshees in the past and they're OK. I never had any suspension problems or failures.

$ 1,000.00 is a bit high for a Banshee that old with a blown engine, though. I'd offer the guy $ 800.00 cash and be prepared to walk away if he refuses. Make your offer in the presence of the seller's wife or girlfriend if you can. You'd be surprised the pressure a woman can put on a guy trying to make a deal. She sees all that cash and suddenly you have a deal made, even if the seller was originally firm on his price.

I've spent $ 800.00 on what I thought was a decent project Banshee, only to discover I'd been ripped off. The engine turned out to have a damaged head gasket, and therefore water had gotten into both cylinders and caused rust damage to the cylinder walls. Not a good day, that day...

whats the diff with the j-arm banshees and the regular a-arm? i heard bout them in the past never knew much bout them though

@ speedy,
Don't waste your money, besides...
you're not ready for a shee yet

The J arm frame is a little lighter than the a arm frames so they are popular with drag guys. There are plenty of companies that make aftermarket J arms and a arm conversion kits. I would only be concerned about the J arms if you did MX.
I cant comment on that particular bike as the link doesnt work for me.

Seems Like An Okay Starting point for price , It does need work but I see a Good amount of aftermarket parts on it , From Cascade to DG , I'd Go Look At it and check it out , check the trans fluid what compression is left and ask the owner as many Questions as possible about it , Good Luck

older ones with J arms usually had the 4x156 rear wheels/hubs iirc

I got an 01 recently but haven't ridden it much yet. I'd like to but I want to trail ride it and it's got tiny little MX tires on it atm which I hope to change soon. but I might just sell it off at some point. tie rod is bent, bumper is trash and it needs rear brake pads. but other than that it's a running 01 and I paid $700 for it. tors eliminated, FMF pipes, baja rear wheels, T9 fronts, nerfs, spacers front and back (gonna remove the rear ones since it already has an axle) so there are cheap shee's out there. I'm actually not really a huge banshee fan. I just sold my LT250r and missed having a 2 smoker and my buddy gave me a deal on it. besides the tie rod, bumper and brake pads it's ok. rips up high in the rpms for sure. but I need to get it dialed in to have better off the line power and maybe take off the twist throttle and put a nice thumb throttle back on it.

Speedy, you are banned from craigslist! Holy Crap, you haven't even finished modding your blasty yet!

Take two deep breaths, and think about it! You are young and have plenty of time to buy/sell quads, parts. Enjoy what you have, most kids don't even have one quad!

Looks like i need to have a talk with pap!
