i have a feeling that all this thread is going to accomplish is to make everybody mad at each other and constantly arguing over their opinions. EVERYBODY has an opinion, just get over it, you stick to your opinion i stick to mine. now can we all grow up and just state our opinions on what we think WITHOUT trashing anybody else's opinion?

im not mad, aint nothing on here anybody is gonna say to make me mad, this is a forum and it is for discussing whatever.if you or anybody else gets mad its there own fault, if you cant talk without getting your feelings hurt then all i can say say is dont put your opinion in. why is it everytime somebody starts discussing something on here somebody says grow up or close the thread. whats the point of a forum if you cant state a point and then talk about it. i havent trashed anybody's opinion on here

If you put a dt200 motor into would you consider it to still be a blaster??Same motor and all just liquid cooled,but doesn't belong in a blaster theoretically??

so a blaster with banshee brakes and yfz shocks on the front and 400ex rear shock, yfz plastic and whatever else you put on a blaster frame wouldnt make it a hybrid as well? only a motor makes it a hybrid...i dont think so. its a little different than just putting different shocks on a pickup

Shocks are shocks. Just my opinion. To me it seems what you are saying is that anything that isnt stock makes it a hybrid. I think for it to be a hybrid you really need to have to do major fabrication to make major components fit that were never meant to. Motor swaps definately qualify. Shocks that bolt right on, brakes that only require newer style spindles, and plastics that dont change the structure of the frame to fit just dont qualify in my opinion. For what its worth I really respect those of you who have done swaps. I think they are badass!

my feelings aren't hurt, but from reading your posts in my mind it sounded like an argument was starting and i was just trying to prevent one. i'm sorry for falsely accusing you. by the way i've been meaning to tell you, i really like your blaster, how much faster is yours with the yz250 motor then the regular blaster? i might be looking to find a blaster and do a swap in the future.

There was a discussion about this awhile back when it came to mx racing. The problem was that people were putting yzf400 and yzf426 4poke motors in there trx250r chassis. I think it was the ama that decided that a motorcycle motor in an atv frame was considered a "hybrid" and wasn't allowed to race, but you could put say a 350x 3wheeler motor in a trx250r chassis and it was legal.
Personally, I think that if you put a motorcycle/dirtbike motor in an atv then its a "hybrid". If you put an atv engine (say a yfz450) into a different atv (a raptor 250) then its not.

If you did a motor swap,it's not as a custom/ mod'ed Blaster. It's in a whole nother class. That's not a bad thing but just calling it a Blaster is taking away from it. If you did a motor swap, be proud of it. I don't think anyone is trying to put it down but I do think they should be in a class of there own. Before people get started, I'm not saying anything about them being in BOTM.

well there seems to be some different opinions floating around so what does everyone think?? personally i belive that if you put a dirtbike motor in your blaster then whoop a 400 or whatever you really cant be bragging about how your "blaster" just took them down.

WOW this is a tough subject!!! Some people don't think my blaster is a blaster anymore, AND IT'S NOT, it's a CT240 blaster hahahaha, so i guess i kind of agree with noober. If i whoop a 400 or whatever i really cant bragging about winning with a blaster because it not just a blaster, it a CT240 blaster.....If you have a YZ250 in your blaster its not just a blaster, it a YZ250 blaster, and if you have a blaster motor in your YZ250 your a dumb a$$.....lol

It seem like alot of people are taking this as an insalt. It's not. A motor swap blaster is not really a true blaster but you can call it what ever you want. I just think it's been taken to a higher level and should be called something more then just a Blaster.

I've got a 240 & a YZ Blaster type quad. I refer to one as the Blaster, one as the YZ Blaster and the difference is obvious to anyone who looks. 1 has a Vitos top end and 1 has a Ohlins top end ... both have a Yamaha gearbox. Call them what ya want. I keep the 240 around so I can still subscribe to this forum & make dumb posts ... Life ain't fair and a win is a win! ... PauleB, I like cheese .. LOL ... but to not call your Blaster a Blaster cuz you went to all the work of putting an older motor in it is just jealousy ... I like Blasters in most any flavor... I:I ... but I especially like their size for our trails.

Oh ya, if ya change the traditional Blaster plastic & bumper is it a switcher? ... ... sure don't look like a Blaster anymore ... Ahahahahah
