well anyways i had it coming and prolly deserve it for not useing the blaster the way it was designed so please do not flame me to bad

anyway i watched that vid of the kids driving the blaster backwards so i wanted to try it real quick well i messed something up and ill try to explain it the best i can...

ok so my kickstarter was having problems before like it had problems grabing to turn over the motor and i think i finished it off.
i told my friend to push me backward and then i was ganna pop the clutch and drive backwards well it didnt work..
well all i herd was a weird noise like it went "zing.........clunk" sorry thats the best i can discribe it.
but now it will not start with the kickstart all the kickstart does is move up and down like it should it just doesnt grap anything.
the quad and still be push started and it shifts up just fine but when i go to downshift it feels like the shifter goes a little to far and i have to pull it up a little just to get it in the lower gear.

anyone have any ideas?

like i said i feel stupid and bad enough for trying it so yeah ive learned my lesson!!!

sounds like the bendix on the kick starter. youll have to take the cover off to see for sure but its the piece that engages the gear when you kick it and disengages it when the motor starts kinda a one way clutch of sorts.

when i take the cover off what is everything im going to see in there cause im ganna wanna make sure to see if i messed anything else up.
like can i check the tranny gears too...
while im in there im going to change out my clutch too is an EBC dirt racer clutch kit any good????

yeah lol the way i see things is that you learn things from succeeding but you learn a hell of alot more from makeing mistakes =))

just a wild guess but Im going to say that gear may have come off the back of the clutch housing. Not sure though its been over a year since I had mine apart. I've never used EBC clutches but I know that the Barnett dirt diggers are considerd the best in the industry by many mechanics and racers I have them on mine and after much abuse they still look and work like new.

hi, yea i think dat in de 2nd picture is a clip dat goes on the kick starter shaft and your kickstarter shaft looks gd
the same cant be sed for that gear doh

yeah the clip goes in the groove on the inside of the large gear on the kick starter with the part sticking out pointing inward toward the motor. if im not mistaken it fits in a slot or something

hmmm i belive that little gear is not related to the kick assembly.

ok i found out what the gear is and its the kickstart gear off the back of the clutch basket it comes in contact with the kickstart idle gear so all i need is to get another clutch basket because i guess that gear isnt supposed to come out of the basket and the kickstarter shaft looks like its in good condition but the clip is all messed up idk if im ganna be abile to fix the clip but ill try...

man, you seem calm for having to buy a new clutch basket. i think someone just put one up for sale in the forsale section, you may be in luck. good luck fixing that spring though man, just get a new one.

yeah i used to freak out about stuff like this but now i stay calm and it usually all works out in the end i mean yeah it totally sucks that my blaster is down but it will be fixed in a week or two waiting on parts sucks haha.....
