First off I want to say in all seriousness, I really hope I don't get unfairly banned or penalized for sharing my freedom of speach and my beliefs ... Everyone knows about the gun laws that our governemnt is trying to change, which in my opinion is a direct violation of our second amendment rights ! The changing of the gun laws they are proposing will only effect the honest law abiding citizens that have and love their legally registered guns, and will make it much harder to practice our right to bare arms. In my opinion the new proposed laws will only increase the number of illegal, unregistered weapons significantly. We should all stands up and fight for what few rights and freedom we still have in this so called " land of the free ". For those of you that agree with me don't take this laying down, there's great power in numbers and we should make our voices be heard as a whole !

100% agree! We must stand together. As it is only bad guys have more guns & when the good & honest loss there guns all hell is going to break!

Hey buddy, we are twenty years ahead of you on this in Canada.
Many of those laws already pertain to us here.
Most of them are useless window dressing.
Hi capacity mags? Against unarmed targets? It doesn't matter. A single shot shotgun is as lethal.
As a kid I used to hunt rabbits with a single shot shotgun with 4 extra shells between the fingers of my left hand.
We could shoot 5 rabbits on the run.
Assault rifle?
The British Lee Enfield is the grand-daddy of all assault rifles.
I have used it in modern service rifle competitions against AR15's and done very well, including in the rapid fire matches.
Can you imagine a 30-30 Winchester being any less effective?
No, type of weapon is not the problem.
One thing that does seem to work in Canada is owner registration.
To own or buy firearms or ammunition you have to take a course and have a background check and references.
Mess up, get in trouble, make threats or do something crazy and this right is revoked.
That is not the total answer.
Somehow you have to get your poverty and desperation and drug and gun culture under control.
As long as a significant proportion of your population feels a gun is the answer to their security there is no hope.
Why is it that the Cuba is a safer country to live and travel in than the USA?
Take care of your weak and sick, make jobs more available and attractive than crime,
raise your children with fathers and clear sense of right and wrong.
When I went to school almost every boy had a jackknife, we worked on rifles in shop class. No problems.
Why do schools now need metal detectors?
Yes, fight for your 2nd Amendment rights, but you also have to fight to correct what is wrong in the country.

to me it's ridiculous our president wants to pull an executive order to get this done so he ca go around everyone, these rights were made for a reason, and when someone messes with them it's total bs, I'm a gun owner and love being able to have the weapons I have to shoot targets, hunt, protect my family, we are one step further to becoming a socialist country and I don't like it...u dont mess with people's rights and think its ok, the news manipulates people's minds and makes people think guns are bad and never put heavy coverage on the good things guns do.
The executive orders basically just strengthened the background checks which is a good thing. Any ban has to go through congress and is unlikely to pass.
i love my guns and im gonna be really mad if they ban them and i agree the media has minuplated peolpe to think there bad but they never have any good thing about guns or anything all the news is about bad stuff happening never thing good happening
the media just manipulates and shows us the bad stuff, local small news covers the good things people do, like awk posted. we need to stand up and put the power back in the peoples hands, government shouldn't run the country, the people, WE THE PEOPLE!!
I got a 1.8% raise this yr, but my taxes went up and im now paying more in than I was!!
im military and the biggest problem now is we may not get paid this march due to them not agreeing on a defense budget....we are the budget, now what I don't understand is all of us live within our means as regular people, debt is inevitable yes, it will happen, but why cant our government live within its means, we need someone as a treasurer that says this is what u got, spend it wisely and evenly, that's that. there is no reason we need to raise the debt ceiling, just giving china more and more of our country, u know whats going to happen, this

And the way this will happen is if we can't defend ourselves. Sooner or later they are going to want their money. It's hard to find things that aren't made there, let alone made in USA!!

Don't worry man we'll get paid. If you remember this happened last year too, never went without a paycheck.
Everyone in the military swore an oath to protect this country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Some of the people who decide who those enemies are, are also the same ones wanting to take our guns.
Now as far as the poeople who make up the military, their opinions are as diverse as anyone elses. There are those who agree with the proposed gun control laws and those who strongly oppose them.

We will soon have another civil war in this country. They think they can just keep taking and taking and we'll just keep giving it up.
In my opinion the new proposed laws by our government are all just a big show, a half assed attempt to make the gullable citizens of this country that cant research and make educated decisions on their own feel safe . . . Rather then actually trying to resolve the problems at hand, they want to temporarily fix the problem by giving the " sheep " of our country a sense of false security. This is until another tragedy occurs, but by then it will be too late to realize the poor, ineffective decisions our government and their selves have made. As stated a high percentage of the gun related problems in our country are due to illegal, unregistered guns that make their way to bad people. Illegally importing guns from other countries is a multi million, if not multi billion dollar a year industry . . . Unfortunately there are no new gun laws that could ever change that, so what is the sense of passing these laws that will only effect the good, honest, by the book americans that own guns for sport, to protect their families and if nothing else to exercise one of the few freedoms we still have in this country. We can not wait until good people who no loner have a way to defend their families have to sit back and watch the crime rates across the board sky rocket once the bad people who still have their illegal weapons realize the rest of us are defenseless, sitting ducks. We have bent over and layed down time and time again letting our government strip us of freedom after freedom and right after right ! Noone should willingly or unwillingly forfeit their natural amendment right to bare arms, nor their right to self defense. This MUST be where we draw the line and start taking our rights back !

that sir is a false statement obama does not want to take your guns. I do agree that the ban on assault weapons and high volume clips are going to do nothing. The assault rifles that people own now are grandfathered in and there is nothing he can do about those. If this ban does occur there is no difference in a 410 then say a 243 for home protection. how far do you think you are going to be shooting? in my case the ban will not effect me at all as i see no practical use in 30 round clips or assault style weapons. i own many guns and its just doesnt fit what i do. but do i think they should ban them? not at all. the government will never and can never take our guns. simple as that.
