I hear you Dave, We look all the time, and get dissapointed. But every once in awhile it all pans out. Thats what keeps me looking.
You always get a lot of tire kickers if selling. And if you are buying people think they are sitting on a gold mine. Patience pays off when dealing with people on CL. Eventually high priced junk comes down after they are stuck with it for a while. And if you are selling, the right buyer will come along.
I agree. I used to enjoy selling stuff but you have to deal with to much BS now. I had to deal with a lot of BS when I was selling my first Blaster. I posted this story before but I'll post it again here.
Had two guys come to look at my first Blaster I was selling. Got home from a hard ass day at work in the Winter time. The guys said they would be there a 6 and didn't show up till 8. They show up and have me standing outside for an hour and 45 minutes checking the blaster over and debating if they should buy it. It's cold and windy as hell. Wind chill -12. After nitpicking and low balling , they decide to buy it. The guy was $50 short and I wasn't going to let it slide. We laid the Blaster up in the back of his truck and I follow him in my truck a mile down the road to the WAWA store so he can get the rest of the money out of the ATM. We get there and he pulls up to the pump to fuel up his truck while the other guy goes to get the money. The guy fuels up and starts look at the Blaster some more. He sees a little oil spot from the exhaust port and starts to BS me that it's going to need engine work do to it. I tell him that's nothing but he still wants to be a dick over it and wants to knock off $100 on the price. No way on that. The two guys unload the Blaster right in the parking lot then tell me I should pay them $30 for the gas they burned coming from far away to look at it. That was a hell no. They take off and I'm sitting the with my Blaster and a pickup truck half loaded with sh*t. I had a biotch of a time getting it loaded by myself. It was just a fun night freezing my ass off for nothing.

I sold a Dazon Mini - Buggy on another site and guy wanted me to pay for the gas from Florida. I was nice and said I would allow him $150 off the $1,500 price. He gets here 4 hours late and says he went to the Life and Science Building while he was here with his kid . I say that's ok, then don't see the kid and ask where is he ?

I had one person send me a list of about 20 items he would trade all for my blaster. It looked more like his list of CRAP that he wanted to throw out. I even had one guy that wanted to trade a huge ass cabin cruiser boat. I'm talking so big that you would need an 18 wheeler to haul it. WTF would I do with that ? Lol.
Have you guys ever got screwed when you drive far to see a quad and it's a p. o. s. ?
Went 2 hours to look at a blaster with extra parts for 600. When I get there the owner of the quad isn't there, instead he made his 80 year old father come out and show us. So we go to look at it and wow!! He was just riding it before we came and it was covered in mud like I couldn't even tell that color of the plastics. So after being a little surprised I saw that all the tires were flat. I asked and the dad said they don't hold air. I had no comment. Getting a little annoyed now and as soon as I sit on the seat the rear shock pops off and scares the hell out of me lol. After putting the bolt back in (way to short for it) I went to kick it and well I look at it and stare. He has a banshee rear caliper and mounted the little holder for brake fluid in the way so you can't kick it. So I call the kid (who was probably 20) and tell him these problems he said ok and I asked how to start it and he said pop start it. I asked how long have you been doing this and he said for over a year. I hung up and left didn't even say anything to the dad. By the way the cltuch was weak so I couldn't even roll it in gear lol.
