And i dont know why this happened?!?

Stock carb/290 main,needle clip 4rth postion
Shearer pipe
I keep my airbox lid ON
Boyesen superstock duel stage reeds in STOCK CAGE
Brand new bore and hone and wesico piston about with about 35-40 hours on it now
Gas mixed at 32-1

I took my cylynder off about 1 month ago and my piston looked brand new still, and that was when my blaster had about 20 hours on it

Seems burnt and lots of carbon?

that's odd, it does look like there was a head gasket leak. but all that carbon would make me think it was really rich

Could have,i put my old head gasket back on after removing about 3 weeks ago, then rode alot, and its a crush,so i think i killed it.

thanks for pointing that out..

to me... and im no expert but thats what it looks like.. iv seen marks like that on cars that blow head gaskets... could have been a high rpm leak, and the carbon was from lower revs.. like alsight leak at max sucktion ( under load) get what im sayin vern?

Whos vern?

i get what your saying though,i been riding in powerband alot and also bogged it down alot on a sand beach..

I put my old head gasket back on and should have.

now i must get a 240,and port and polish

I didnt do nothing to the gasket,it was flat when i put it back on after inspecting my piston, then i rode a few weeks,

now all sudden its making a loud pinging noise and wont idle, and feels like no compression kicking it

I switch back and forth from the red klots techniplate and yamalube 2R

those are stuck rings homie, i ran klotz benol and that happened to me and what do ya know supertechniplate has benol in it.... i really like the klotz smell but im going to switch to super M this year.

should stick with one oil

suck it up and by a gallon of amsoil, at 40:1 it will last you forever and burn clean. you need to have it mic'd but if you don't have that many ours on it you can probably get buy with honing it. but you are going to need to clean up the head and a new piston and rings. If you dont get amsoil, stick with yamalube R at 32:1

I dont advocate reusing head gaskets, but if you absolutely have to, you can reuse one, BUT you have to aneal it. if you have a gas stove, put it on the burner untill it glows, or you can use a propane torch, but you need to head it completely then let it cool on its own. That allows the copper to expand and soften back up so it will seal.

For what an entire gasket kit costs why would you reuse it at all?

If you had waited it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper than what youre into now.

NEVER reuse a gasket even in a pinch especially on something as vital as a head gasket.

No questions please,im asking the questions here.

i had a fresh bore done last spring, and when i sent it to oconnor for porting, he found it to be about 5 thousannths over bored, it looks to me like your rings weren't sealing tight, or why would there be blowby, is that not what the burnt/carbon below the rings indicates???, and i also think that 4th clip down is too rich
and super m rocks, have ran it for years with great results

Well a 100% professional did my bore and hone. it fit perfect when i installed.

And i did the break in proccess 100% correct also.i took off my cylinder a few months back and my piston still looked new and rings looked great,i slid my cylinder back on and reused my head gasket(was dumb for that) and couple rides later i start hearing the pinging ratling noise,so i inspect and find this..

And my needle clip position was reccommended by a professional also.

so if everything was done right and "receomended by a professional" why is it broken? :-/
