On the trails i hardly ever use 6th gear. Does anyone know of a good, free app on the android market to clock me? Also, how do you mount a device on your quad? It would suck to lose one.
You need a GPS if you want accurate speeds and trail tracks.
I run a Garmin Etrex Legend HCx: Garmin webite, Legend HCx
The HCx stands for High sensitivity receiver, Colour, eXtendable memory.
Don't go for the older cheaper blue monochrome Legend, only 8-10 hrs life and loses tracks under tree cover.
The HCx has 30hrs of battery life, colour display (easier to see) and very good satellite reception.
I would not mount it on the bike (been there, done that).
If you mount it on the bike the vibrations (yeah, yeah, I am riding a motocross engine, trail vibrations will do it too)
will shake the battery and internal connections loose. Some guys use lithium batteries and pack the battery case
with foam to solve this when they mount the GPS on the bars.
I just put my GPS in my jacket pocket, take it out when I need it.
Cell phones are getting better, but so far I haven't seen any that work as good as the Garmin HCx.
The Garmin has a maximum speed function, as well you can see your speed and altitude anywhere on the track.
Very accurate, no guesses.
83 mph in 500 feet in 5th gear.
what would happen if i ran a gas with idk say 120 octane?
nothing..........
Lmfao Bummer, yeah would prolly be too rich, oh well just a thought lol
