Brand new rebuilt motor, new bore and wiesco piston bored by Ken. Porting by ken, haad machining, by ken. All new motor just ready to be running. First heat cycle done, second heat cycle done, third heat cycle done just like ken said to, let it sit overnight. Come out the next morning and let it idle for a few minutes, I revved it a little bit just to make sure it was warm. Putted up and down my street in second gear, then did a couple third gear revs, just enough to pull the front wheels off the ground and then I let the revs come back down. Did that a few times then pulled it into the garage to put the plastics back on, trying to get it into neutral and it stalled. Try to start it and the kick starter is frozen, I roll the quad back and forth getting it into neutral, kick starter works fine now. Won't start back up, pull plug and see a piece of metal up in there. Check compression, 65psi, I need about 100n more. I am to damn depressed to even pull the head and see what happened. Stand by for part out guys, it might just happen.

WTF!!!!!! what the hell happened?

everything I know I told you, I have no clue man. Ran like a dream, blue smoke clearly visible, didn't ride it hard. Bam dies from idle, kick start froze then freed up, now it has not compression with a piece of metal in the spark plug

give weisco a call, and ken, and tell weisco that u put the piston it, broke it in perfectally, and something that u have no idea happened, and it stalled, and this happened. play stupid. and say that the piston failed on the first tank of gas, and if u can get another one. also tell ken exactally what happened (not what i told ya) and see if he will work something out with ya?

I have to figure out what happened first, depends on wtf happened. If the piston skirt broke I am calling wiesco, it wasn't running to lean because the plug looks perfect and there was good amounts of blue smoke. I had not run it long enough to do a WOT plug chop

im guessing that the peice of metal chewed up the piston. ive seen it where people only chewed up the top of piston and head. not the jug, so u may get lucky and just need new piston and rings. im also assuming that the peice of metal was sucked through the carb some how, or the bottom of the spark plug broke off and did that. i would take the head off, just the head, and check the cylinder walls, and piston head.

Perhaps ate a ring? mmm...that is a bitter pill to swallow mate, dont worry, we have all been down a similar road. pluck up some courage and open it up, take some pics.

I think we need to have a BF counselling section where we can vent our sorrows...MODS??

race day is not far off. call weisco like i said, and talk to them , see if they will send u another one for free, and call ken, and ask to set something up with him. im sure they will be more than happy to help.

weisco won't help me, it was my fault, maybe if the piston skirt broke or something they might. I just have to man up and get it done again.
