Ok i went to a local drag yesterday
im 18 and this was my first time runnin
My blaster has a +4 swingarm, 240 kit, fmf full system, dirtdigger clulth, 280 main jet, holestots, and itp alumiun rims. lets just say i got beat by a stock blaster. What gear setup is the best for 200 ft drags, im runnin stock setup

slow off the line with 13/40?
maybe you have to practice launching, if you find first gear useless, launch in second.
i drag race a 400ex all the time and i launch in 2nd and kill him, im also running similiar setup as you except 35mm airstryker and ported

are you spinning too much? maybe not enought? is it just taking too long to hit the powerband? what are you racing on? dirt? stone? pavement?

sounds like you werent on the throttle hard enough before dumping the clutch.. when i launch my wheels dont get full grip till about 4th gear. up untill then they are spinning like crazy and im accelling at the speed of light. and i dont even have a 240 kit. just gotta get em to break loose a lil more i think. then you'lll already be in the power band every time you shift instead of having to wait till it starts pullin

the only reason i say you werent on the throttle enough is because you say it stood up on you. with a +4 swinger dumping the clutch if you give it enough throttle the wheels should break free and if anything it should stand up when you hit 2nd or 3rd

i would also start looking into a different pipe because that will also change your power band and you can gain afew more HP too. i would also check your jetting, mine was off by 2 notches on the needle and i couldnt even come close to my buddys 300ex changed that and i run away from him now. your jetting has to be dead on other wise your losing alot of power.

the jetting is also a very good point.

as for the pipe sure there are better but my fmf gold series fatty still takes off like a rocket. considering the dude beating him is stock i doubt this has anything to do with it

how long did you run it on that plug and what ratio are you premixing? sounds like your jetting may be off if its a relativly new plug
