project: were sorry

Not Too Bad Then , Whats up with your front brake Delete and rear run off the front master ? never noticed it till now in your Sig !

i like they way the rear adds a bit more control to the pitch of the quad when braking, but i often forgot the foot pedal. instead just grabbed the fronts and nose diving it. plus i dont have 03+hydro knuckles/spindles.

thanks speedemon. i am going to be switching the red for orange/copper metallic and the black for dark grey. pc for the metal items and ppg for the plastics over next winter/spring

just got back from the headworks park in genoa. i was dragging down the 300ft wide, mile+ long stretch of flat white sand. tearing up the trails in 3rd and 4th. pullin wheelies in the riverbed. such a great time. didnt hit up the dunes though, next time. i couldnt be happier with my build. the only thing id like to have is some 22x11x8 10 paddle rears instead of the 18x9.5x8 6 paddles. the sidewinders were great dont get me wrong, handled like a dream. they tore stuff up so hard. but id like the speed/clearance out off the haulers. and some slicks for the front

Nice Sounds Fun , Never Really Rode In Allot Of Sand So never Had Paddle Tires Before , I Heard That dirt fronts Make It a Rough Ride So The Smoothies up Front should Help !

well i have no idea why but the motors blown. it was hauling ass, then it died. detonation, the sparkplug is covered in metal dust... this is the same thing that happened to the original motor. WTF!!!!

multiple choice.....

1. lean jetting,
2. airleak ...was it leak tested ?
3. too low octane fuel for the compression it had ???....
what compression, what octane fuel, and did you hear it detonating/pinging ??

370 main.

leakdown tested. no drop in pressure.

stock comp, hadnt put the new dome on yet. running 91 octane, place that sells 110 was closed.

it ran great all week, then pulled this crap today. did a 2nd-6th pull and half way through 6th it pinged once or twice then it died and locked up. i thought it may have been hot, so i let it sit for a few mins then tried to start again and you could tell there was little to no comp.
pulled the plag and it was covered in specs for atmoized piston. im assuming ringlands like the last motor.

im starting to think that carb/pipe is cursed.

leak test it again before tearing it down, i'm guessing it developed an airleak
did the base and head bolts get retorqued after
heat cycles/break-in ?
what base gasket was used ? OEM or green paper ?

Do a good inspection of the carb boot, they have been known to pass the leak down test, but when under vibration leak like a sieve.

The boot may have developed a crack that only shows up when flexed.

Do a leak down test and vigorously flex the carb boot.

im just at a standstill. i dont want to stick another 300-500 to get it running AGAIN just to have it blow up in my face again.
these blasters just seem unreliable. there fine for days or weeks, then all of a sudden BOOM. ive blown 2 motors, my buddy has blown 3, ive had cheap chinese quads that lasted way longer.

i dont know how you guys seem to keep these things running. ive never had problems like this with any other kind of engine.

it puzzles me because i see u guys dragging them and jumping the piss out of them with no problems. i dont get on it near that hard, and this keeps happening.

5 motors between the 2 of you ?
same builder ?
