I just bought a 1992 Blaster with just about everything stock except some wheel spacers. Got it for 750$ which i though was a steal... I ordered the oil block off kit, and I'm going to be installing it tomorrow or saturday. I've read a few discussions but I'm still not 100% sure whether i should be mixing at like 20:1 or 32:1. I ordered 2 gallons of Yamalube 2S to mix with, so any recommendations? Also does any rejetting need to be done? Like i said everythings stock.. Thanks guys! So excited to get riding this thing!! I:I

- Here's a few pictures i took last week when i picked it up!!

That's in pretty damn good condition especially for a 92 ! I don't think I have ever saw an orange and white blaster like that with matching orange shocks, considering the condition its in I would say that's a pretty good deal for $750.

The way the oil and gas mixes differs between injection and premixing, if you mix at 32-1 there shouldn't be any need to rejet as long as everything is in fact stock. The first thing you should do when buying a new atv ( especially 2 strokes ) is leak test the motor ASAP to ensure there are no air leaks which would quickly spell disaster for your motor and wallet. You can make one or a member on the forum Awk08 sells them at a very reasonable price, I would highly recommend making or buying a leak tester AND leak testing the motor to be your next move ! Start using the " search " function at the upper right part of the forum and you will learn tons of useful information about your blaster. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new toy !

there's a very knowledgable fellow from australia who always recommends increasing the main jet size 1-2 sizes for premixing versus the stock oil injection.
he's sure to chime in on this :)

i've never done just the injection delete by itself to confirm that (always throwing a bunch of mods all at once)
but it does make sense, as you are now flowing fuel and oil mixed thru the same size jet, (less fuel and thicker too)
that cannot compute to the same fuel to air ratio as just fuel thru the same jet.

only one way to tell for your exact bike, elevation, temps and situation... plug chops

i'd buy a 240, 250 and 260 main, 3 or 4 new b8es plugs, start large and plug chop down to perfection

If you add oil to fuel then the quantity of fuel that is drawn through the jets is less, owing to the volume of oil in the mix.

More oil = less fuel = lean mix = BOOM.

Mix at 32:1, up the main one size.

Mix at 25:1, up the main one size more.

Depending on the elevation and temp, sometimes the needle has to richened up if heavier oil concentrations are used.

I have for many years fine tuned my jetting to compensate for elevation and temperature changes, by altering the oil/fuel ratio, rather than remove a float bowl in a dusty pit.

At times, to be on the podium conditions call for a half size jet change.

Always plug chop to confirm jetting.

Thanks for all the responses, and i appreciate the compliments on the new toy! I just realized that the oil block off kit includes instructions on jetting, so i'll probably go by that, but it will most likely just say increase main jet by one size.. hopefully..so yeah I:I

Nice blaster I saw that one on craigslist. Good Deal for such a clean machine. I Mix Maxima Super M at 32:1. And as someone else stated. Leakdown test it. Its better to be sure than sorry!

that is the oldest newest looking blaster ive seen in a long while yea your gonna have to jet up 1 size for sure also the big 3 for premix oils is yamalube amsoil dominator and maxima super m any of those 3 and it will burn cleanly and enhance the life of your cylinder a good bit longer. also i would highly sudjest buying a ratio rite cup/lid so your measurements are exact.

Welcome to BF. That's a clean blaster you have. I use KLOTZ 2 stroke oil. I think its good stuff and it smells great coming out the tail end. anybody else ever hear of KLOTZ racing oil. That's what I use. Everyone I ever talked to around my area tells me to use klotz. can I get anyone elses opinion on this

thats what i ran in my kx 125 right before i got this machine. so i ordered 2 gallons of yamalube 2s and was going to mix at 32:1.

i used klotz before on my 97 cr 125, and my 02 kx 125, but switched over to super maxima m. it suited my needs for trail riding and a little bit on the track. plus it was quite cheaper... but yeah, klotz is a hell of a product and smells good!!

Has anyone heard from this guy ? Did he get this thing out and get dirty or is it a garage ride ?

I apologize for being so freaking busy that i haven't even been able to become a supporting member OR respond..... BUT yes i did in fact get to ride this machine QUITE a bit the last few weeks or so. It's got a little bit trouble idling down when i pull the clutch in, especially when going down hills it seems which is odd... I went up to a 240 main size but didn't mess around with the needle yet which i believe it needs. I'm going to up it another 2 sizes for the winter because its cold now! Also, i've got 2 flat tires right now, one in the back and one in the front. It happened on a VERY nice all day ride with a couple of buddies with a total of about 65 miles. Overall, i am SOOO happy i purchased the blaster and i plan on continuing to keep it in good shape! Way to many times have i fallen off the back doing wheelies though, LOL. Thanks guys!! I'll keep you updated!! I:I
