porting

im confused with how rings go on, someone said that you aline the end of the ring with the piston pin? anyone have pictures?

im only asking since i will be getting porting soon hopefully and i dont want to reinstall the old piston/rings wrong

Both ring grooves have a locating pin for each ring.

the dark spot in the ring groove it the pin which stops the ring from spinning on the piston. If your piston has two rings then the stop pins will be offset so you don't lose compression.

id also see if the rings have a taper to them. Some do and can be installed upside down

ah cool I'm trying to think what the next step up from that is... anyway dennis from flotek gave a good price the other day 150 for porting and 50 for a head mod to match. I'm thinking im gonna have to sell some ammo next weekend for a fairly aggressive 1 up from aggressive trail port job. or put it twards bling for the blaster (shrug) im easily swayed at 3am
