okay so I like to have polished things on my bike, and everything i get polished i get sent to my dads work and the guy there said he cant be polishing a lot more stuff so id like to polish myself. I was thinking what should I buy? a bench grinder and put polsihing wheels? or a drill bit with the wheels on them? Im looking to spend about 200-250? would a 1hp bench grinder work?

I would get a decent bench grinder and a plug in Dremel tool. Get a wire wheel for on one side of the grinder and a buffing wheel on the other. Then stock up on polishing compound.

I use to polish allot of stuff.

You might try harbor frieght online, they have some deals.

Keep in mind, that buffing wheels, need compounds. and thats the costly stuff. Sometimes comes in a can or in like sticks. and you touch to the buffing wheel every so often.

I took a autobody class once, and one of the things I use to polish, was aluminuim wheels and gear shifter.I didnt polish alot of steel tho.

Sporty

Okay so then what polishing wheek would I use? Brown? White? or just get a few color?

Yeah but there are so many different wheels, like hand sewn, big fluffy one, a lot. Will you go to ebay and find me an 8 inch :D

Thanks man, I think im going to go with a 8" single speed at about 3450 RPMs. I still dont understand what compounds to use with what wheels and stuff though. and I also dont understand what wheels to use
