I decided to create this thread for the guys who port to get together and share their ideas and techniques. The other porting threads get clogged up with people that don't actually port randomly asking questions. SO ONLY POST IF YOU PORT! Share some ideas, measurements, techniques, and what type of equipment you use. If you pro's would chime in once in awhile that would be sweet. I'll start. I just started cleaning up the transfers in my 1st jug and they are looking pro. Do you guys knife the transfers too? And do you polish them all the way?

Is that to prevent the fuel from "sticking"? I saw something called a "Golf Ball" port on the walls of the intake that are suppose to keep the mixture spinning to prevent it from beading on the walls.

yes and better mixing of air/fuel. i have never heard of the golf ball. i would think a golf ball like dimple would probably keep velocity higher, thinking behind it anyway. interesting concept. that be alot of work to put a golf ball type dimple, evenly and accurately in the right places in the ports though.

i just leave them carbide cutter rough.
