So I picked up these ITP Bajas today. The outer rings are pretty scuffed up but for the price I figured I would get them anyway. When I got them home I decided that I wanted to try to make them look a little better so I sanded and painted the back side of one rim to see how it would look. Figured I could always remove it if I didnt like it. I know the paint wont hold up long term but these are probably a temporay solution anyway. So what do you guys think? Finish painting the rest of the rings or leave them and deal with the scuffs.

Without painted rings.

Yeah. I was leaning towards painted. I think they look better even though you can still see the scuff when you get close. Look much better from 5 feet away though.

With a little work and some powdercoating you could have a kick ass low buck set of wheels.id powdercoat them for durability.I welded my own skid plate on my blaster I made before having the from powder coated and I honestly figured it wouldn't last since we ride over rocks and stuff and although its scared and scratched that stuff has yet to chip or peel off.

Looks like you have the same wheels freek? Yours hold up well? I'm pretty sure I am going to finish painting them this week. I only have $55 in them with the cost of the wheels and paint. PC would cost too much and I am not sure I have enough patience to sand and polish the rings enough to be happy with them since they are pretty beat up. Once I am done painting I'll polish the inside of them. Thanks for all the comments.

is it just me or does the paint one look like the person had the rim flip win installed?
but paint them and try to clean the rim up. they will look great.

I only painted the back side of one rim to see if I liked it first. So the valve stem is on the other side of that one. Gonna hit the rest of them probably tonight or tomorrow.

they look good painted but, i would hit the rough area with a wire wheel, paint black then a coat of clear or two...looks good bro

Thanks. Didn't have a wire wheel to use last night so I just used sandpaper. Gonna get two coats of black and then a couple coats of clear. What part of Ohio you in?
