picked me up a 300ex

so the frame war begins lol an i amblaster frame for my build for my race quad going to need to get a 06 i would have used the 300ex but the blaster is lower and wider so a 250 4 stroke motor with 35 stock and up to 45 with mods in a light blaster frame oughta fly but the 300ex i have i am anchious to see how it runs because i have never ridden a 4 stroke except for a 70cc kock off pit bike that was my cousins

Say what? I'm confused here. :-/

Stock for stock the 300ex is a lot wider than the narrow Blaster. If you are racing both are going to need extended A-arms in most cases. What 250 4-stroke engine is making 35hp stock? The 300ex only makes like 16hp stock. I've seen a few 40+hp 300ex engines, but they had major $$$ into them. The 300ex I rode rides WAAAAY lower than my Blaster does as well. Maybe the preload was just turned way down.

You wanna argue that a trail 300cc 4 stroke quad is less reliable than any other 2 stroke. I think not! 7000rpm vs. 10,000.....

i just looked it up there realy 282cc's....
never said it was less reliable but imo its not more reliable then a blaster.
people who say that realy just dont know how to maintain a 2 stroke

Lets put something to test as an example.....
Take a crf250r and a cr125, on a 125, you may get a full year of racing, on a crf250r, you may get 2 years.....

any 4 stroke is more reliable than a 2 smoke....dont wanna start stuff......just stating my facts. proven fact straight from Mickey Dunlap (FST) that 2 smokes arent as reliable, doesnt matter if its maintain perfect, any 2 stroke you ride to its full potential, will go within a year....so if you are gettin more than 2 years out of your blaster, you're obviously not riding it hard at all..

i agree that is why you rarly see a 4 stroke with a blown top end blasters its hard to find them actually running

id like to go on first by saying i do ride my blaster hard, screaming everywhere i go ive got a year on my pistion in great shape.
you can go on and say whatever you want about 4 strokes being more reliable.
when not maintained like most two stroke because people dont know what there doing will go just as quick.
im realy geting tired of the 4 strokes being more reliable stuff being preached latley.
im not going to crowd up this thread anymore with this say what you want about 4 strokes being better imo that is bs

like i said 4 strokes are more reliable and will last longer 2 strokes are rpm happy but 4 strokes are re torqey that is why i am switching my motor

if a 2stroke is jetted right and looked after it will last many years ,if a 4t is running even a little bit lean its not half as bad as 2t as on a 2t it will effect how much oil gets to the piston and 4strokes will last longer on a top end but are alot dearer to fix when break ,oppsite on 2stroke though with bottom end,2strokes will last way longer on bottom ends then 4strokes!
