All these suggestions are good, and work wonders on creating a "roomier" feel on the tight chassis blaster. I am 6' 1", and now feel MUCH more comfortable on my blaster after the following mods:
1.) first things first, get those bars off your lap, 1-2" bar risers are great, and with your aftermarket bar make sure they have a taller rise than stock, this really helps. I chose the red lunar racing 1" riser with fly racing 1" over MX bars, HUGE difference.
2.) CUT/SHAVE the front fenders, get them off your shins, remove the bottom bracket and shave them smaller with a dremel, then paint them your choice of color, etc, really makes for more room when moving around in the seat during turns, etc.
3.) Move the REAR fenders back 3-4", this is the SINGLE best thing you can do to add room. Creates an entirely different feel in the saddle, More "Banshee" like, definitely feels longer.
4.) Extended swingarms are a MUST on the short blaster, I chose a custom 4.5" extended swingarm, works great. Our friendly member here StrokedTater can customize your stock swinger to any length, and does good, honest affordable work. But, as said, ya GOTTA do it, no brainer.
5.) Shave the rear fender up nice and clean to remove the bottom hang down where it mounts to the heel guards. Get rid of those stock heel guards and add yourself a set of YFZ 450 heel guards, cheap to grab and easy to install, a great add on. Also add another set of stock pegs mounted to the back of yours, doubling up the foot step wider, and pushes the heel guards that much farther back, makes much more room for your feet.
These simple things listed above makes the Blaster look and feel like a completely different bike, and MUCH more comfortable for the bigger guys. I often have people ask, "What the fugg is that thing?????"
Here is a look at how I did my rear fender shave to delete my heel guards, add the 450's, etc:
And here is the 450 heelies and the doubled up peg mod, much more room than stock:
Here is what I did with the 3-4" gap that is left behind the seat after moving the rear fender back, you can pretty much fabb anything up to your liking, just be creative: (it is a piece of sheet metal painted and through bolted to where the rear mounts were, I left that in tact and did not cut it out)
And take notice to how far my tires now sit behind the heel guards after the +4.5" swinger, AWESOME...
Also keep in mind that when you move your fenders back your airbox hose goes with it, if its stock, leaving a gap between the air hose and the air intake side of your carb, that needs to be extended too. I just used a silicon reducer from the hardware store, some PVC to extend, 3 hose clamps and cut the stock air hose back a bit till it was flat and provided a good mounting point for the pvc/hose clamp to bite.
These mods I listed above will give you the needed room you are looking for, for sure, get to work!!!!!!!!!!!! I:I
