i broke my clutch cable today and need some feedback on cables

the cable that broke was a steel strand cable it looks like anyway have not removed it yet but looks to be steel cable.

i found a hevy duty nylon line one on e-bay for 14.99 shipped
it is a tusk brand cable
are these nylon cables any good?

thanks for the help

I think it means it is nylon lined but the cable is still stranded steel. The housing is lined with nylon to help the cable slide.

well i ordered it
here it is let me know what you think (it may be steel cable with a nylon liner like midwayusa said i hope so.
please look and tell me what you guys get from this.

i hope i did this link right

I am absolutely positive that is a steel cable with and nylon liner. A nylon cable would never last. Not even bicycle cables are anything but braided steel and they don't see near the abuse an ATV cable would. That cable will be fine.

should be fine bud. just make sure you lubricate it and keep it clean.

yes , best part of that statement is " lubricate it " should be done before and after you go riding , especially in sandy or muddy conditions , use a good graphite based lube , and clean that bastard before you lube it , nothing worse than spraying lube on caked up cables , it just makes the crap stick .

keep it lubed.. i spray wd40 down the cable from the lever side and stop when i see it run out at the bottom.

kinda off topic, but i was down in mexico one time and my clutch cable broke on my warrior about 10 miles from camp. i had to ride home through streets and heavy traffic with a broken clutch cable
