Re: my new toy

So this deal hasn't happened yet?

Ask yourself a few questions. Why would that guy want to trade a "national" level 450r for a blaster? What is he not telling you about that quad?

Re: my new toy

Your new toy, yet you don't have it in your possession? I'm also with civic, he's trading you a completely souped up 450r for a blaster? There's definitely something he's not telling you about the 450r

Re: my new toy

i am going to look it all over but he says his son is moving up from the 90's this year and he wants to put him on a blaster so he is trading his quad for it plus his has to run race gas which i am not going to run no matter what so tht is out of the question i am getting it to sell..

I've known of a few 450R's that was built using the 13 to 1 compression piston, they seem to be lack any sort of durability/longevity. I'm not wanting to pee on your parade, just offer a work of warning. I know that 13 to 1 should be ok but often it goes in with the cylinder being decked and the head leveled, which brings you well over the pistons 13 to 1 compression. The new style racing 4 strokes aren't like the bullet proof old tech air cooled engines, they break often and they break all at once.

it all comes down to maintenance, if you maintain it regularly and thoroughly it will last a long time.

the only time they break often if you abuse them and dont maintain them...
