“What is the maximum, stable RPM of a Blaster crank before it goes supersonic”? I don’t know but I’m sure piston speed would be the limiting factor. I don’t do drag engines for Blasters so I’m not running power curves in the type of RPM’s you’re looking at. As a matter of fact, I’m not even close to those numbers. Most of what I do with Blasters is trail and motocross stuff. If you take a global view of the entire engine, I would say 10,000 RPM is probably achievable with tons of work and 11,000 is going to start breaking things really fast. Engine cooling is going to be a major issue winding it up that high. They make a water cooled head for the Blaster but I don’t think it’s enough. We’ve looked at running tubing around the cylinder and making water cooled heads but all we’ve done is talk about it. We may try it when and if things slow down. Sorry it took so long to respond. I don’t remember reading it yesterday but I did read the thread this morning. You said you were sending me a head. Is this part of your Dyno shoot out? Are you only testing heads?
