I want ignition and ignition only on the kart. I think I know what I can ditch and still have a running engine, but have a couple questions about some of the switches.

Based on the ignition circuit diagram in the manual, I want to ditch the TORS control unit, switches, and the ENGINE STOP switch. All I want is an on/off keyswitch that I will wire in in place of 11.

Starting at the magneto, what do I do with the Y/R wire? Just make sure it is not exposed and let it hang?

Then, since I want only one on/off switch, I will keep 11, the main switch. What needs to happen to 12? Make sure the B/W wire feeding it is OPEN?

Moving up to the TORS stuff, I assume that the B/W feeding them should be OPEN?

Thanks for any help :)

No, its on a go kart. The fabwork is pretty much complete minus a brake. Once the brake is finished, I will have to do all the little stuff like wiring, mounting a gas tank, shifter etc.

where does the y/r wire from the magneto go, to the headlight? then yeah i guess just hack it off and tape or wire nut the end to make sure its not exposed, or take it off at the source. the rest of it sounds right as far as i can tell.

once you get that thing running get some good videos, i think i speak for the majority of the people on here when i say thats gonna be sweet, i want to see it lol

Sure thing. I would post pics now, but the metalwork has some ugly surface scale that would be embarrasing to show :P I am going to take the frame to the media blasting guy up the road once its complete to have it blasted clean so I can paint it and make it all shiny and pretty.

hi, sorry to steal the thread, i have done a similiar sort of thing but kept the yellow/red to feed the head light, from the CDI though i have a yellow/blk and yellow/green cable thats not connected to anything, could anyone tell me what these are for?
