Hi, i was just reading a thread about a guy who claims his blaster has a very high idle even when he lowered completely. And some of the members said it might be an airleak. Mine does the same, now let me get this straight: an airleak causes high idle, doesn't matter where the airleak come from, right? crank seals, reeds, etc.
PS one last question, when you do an airleak test, do you have to seal the crankcase vent (the hose on the right side of the motor)?
Thanks for the help

dont know on the leakdown test, but one day i was riding down a mountain an dmy blaster started idling real high. adjusted my idle, played with my cable, cleaned my carb, and still did it. so i had it idling and i sprayed some soapy water on the cylinder. well i saw air bubbles. i turned it off and re torqued my bolts to 18, and started it back up. now it idles fine. so i would say yes. air leak gives you high idle. and its dangerous

doesnt matter where its comming from and airleak is bad. if your doing a pressure test and its leaking air out the vent tube you have a problem with leak either on the right side crank seal or from between the cases inside the transmission. No you dont need to plug the vent hose.
