How To Remove Your TORS (88-02 models)

trust me...you'll know lol, it just..doesn't start right, and doesn't run right..almost like a "flooded" type feeling..thats the best i can really describe it..

and i agree with randelator.... dont remove it if it isn't giving you any sh*t..

06 blaster tors removal

As far as the connectors go, what do I need to do for an 06 model? I dont think the 2006 tors box is in the same place as older models that I've read about here. They changed/moved it in 03?04?-ish. Does anyone know where it is? I've disconnected/removed the throttle switch from the harness . I diconnected/removed the carb switch when I removed the tors carb .

I'd like to just unplug the tors box if that is all that is required, rather than jumping switches. If I do need to jump switches, do I need to jump the throttle switch, the carb switch or both? Looking at the manual for an older blaster on this site it looks like the throttle switch is completing a circuit when the throttle is opened and the carb swtich is open/no-continuity when the throttle is opened. So based on that, I'm assuming to just jump the throttle switch. But if I can avoid that by just unplugging the brain (tors box), I'd rather do that. That would leave the oem harness in tact.

uhhhh, i dont think they..moved the TORS... i'll check on that and get back to you, but im pretty sure they left it alone... so checking right now...

I have an 04 Blaster and i am having the same problems. I wanted to get rid of my brake light and brake switches and any other pointless wire component on my blaster. I got into it a bit too far and accidently cut one of the tors wires. ever since i did that my blaster doesn't seem to run right. I have cut the throttle switch, parking brake switch and the tors component on the carb. I looped the throttle switch and it seemed like it ran awsome for a min. That's when i tapped my wire harness back up and reassembled my machine and it started acting like it was flooding. it runs great when warming up than switches like it's flooding. Any help from this point?

So you are saying that after you cut all those wires that it still ran?I just dissconnected all of those wires and removed the tors brain and now mine wont even start..:(

I did the same thing disconnected mine like everyone has been telling me too(which is obviously the wrong information for a 2003-2006 blaster) and mine didn't start at all. I read somewhere to loop the throttle wire and once i did that mine ran great for a min. I tested it out by doing a 5th gear burn out in my garage for a few min. It sounded like all my problems were solved, but than when i put my quad back together and tried to start it again it was acting like it was flooding and didn't want to go anywhere. My bike still idles no problem, but once you get on it it floods really bad! I am going to go back through and make sure i didn't cross any more wires, but i am kind of lost myself.

I am pretty sure that the tors brain is in the cdi box for the 2003-2006 blasters. I was wondering if maybe i crossed some wires and wrecked my regulator and/or coil and that is my new problem?

since your wire harness is in new condition you could try just unplugging the carb wires, unplugg the parking brake and unplug the throttle switch. If it doesn't start try taking a small piece of wire and looping your throttle switch on the cdi box end. If that works we have our answer that those 3 switches need to be unplugged and than the throttle switch being looped. This will also tell me if i have a bad coil or regulator because above is how my wires are set up. if you try this make sure you warm your quad up good and take a little spin on it to test it. if you have any problems make sure your small piece of wire didn't come loose. otherwise if there are any other problems just hook your wires back up for now and let me know.

Mine wont even start. But i read in another forum that you need to jump both the throttle wire and the tors wire on top of the carb.I dont have time to fool with untill weekend.

Well you could try it.
First disconnect EM brake sensor connector under the front hood
The the Throttle sensor connecter under the front hood
Then the Tors switch at the carb.

Then try to start it without anything connected,if no fire jummper the throttle switch and the tors switch at the carb with some kind of wire.

I think i have something else wrong with my blaster

And than make sure to tell us if that worked or not! I will be going thru my blaster either tomorrow night or friday and i will respond with what i find. if you read above though i may have more problems than this.

i was hust wondering if there was a way to get rid of all the electricalnot used?..keep just the wiring to start it..thanks
