a 12:42 gearing is slower on each side! its no wonder he beat you!

Get a bigger front and a smaller back...

I have seen one guy run 15:38 which is crazy, but thats real speed, and you need power for that I:I

i disagree with you short distance my gearing is better but longe distance 13 40 is better

Long distance is better to have 14:38

13:40 is stock, and its good for short runs. You could probably start in third gear and be fine if you rev and drop, shifting faster than a racer

Considering the $$$ in that EX you did good. I:I

Maybe this too : http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-mods-swaps-129/improving-velocity-48827/

Dremal, flex shaft, 20 Piece 1/8" Shank Rotary Diamond Point Tips or 50 Piece Diamond Mounted Point Set You can at least get the transfer port openings with the ball tip to smooth the liner and some of the cast aluminum.

Raise ex port 1/64 -1/32 MAX widen about same on both sides, properly champher all port openings. Open ex to inside dia of gasket blending back to opening.

I think the DIY covers most the rest. I:I:D

This is in addition to your head mod (check squish when done) and a good pipe.

Also now is a good time for you to read Gorden Jennings and H. Grahm Bell

The ports could be opened up some and the casting flaws should definatly be cleaned up some.

What was done to the exhaust because that iss where most of the power gains come from.

You should expect to experience little or no power gain with that amount of work that was put into the inlet.
