lol dont laugh but i picked up this old dinosaur for $150
all it needs to run is some gas lines...
its a 1986 yamaha moto 4
has 5gears high and low range and this fancy thing you prolly wouldnt know about called reverse lol jk jk...
notice the sweet drum brakes on the front lol..
i know it looks like hell but some spray paint will fix that haha..

Their not bad machines my brother has one and has had it most his life. Its an 85 and still runs to this day. We put an old harley screaing eagle exhaust and harley k and n filter. Stout machines.

well i had a black one that was really beat up but the motor ran good it was a 1993.
so i bought a 2005 roller and stuck my 93 motor in it (i loved this setup)

but then i hit a rough time and i had to sell it so i sold all my blaster stuff for like $1,500

$150? Not bad. I think the snow on it is making it look worse. Nothing some duct tape seat, spray paint and a good cleaning cant fix! Nice find!

That's a good find, especially for a mere $ 150.00! Ugly ain't nothing. That can be fixed. Like most Yamaha's, these Moto-4's are bulletproof. Surprisingly, parts are still plentiful, too. If the engine winds up running OK with a minor servicing, I bet a few hundred $$ and some creativity with Duct Tape and rattle cans would go a long way to making it great.

I rebuilt this '86 Moto-4 a few weeks ago. It runs really well. Now, everybody at the shop uses it for towing around dead riding mowers, popping wheelies (amazingly!!), donuts in the (dirt) parking lot, and just plain 'ol messing around. B)

BTW, I got this quad with an exhaust that resembled so much swiss cheese. I looked all over for a replacement, and finally discovered that N2 ATV Parts offers a brand-new, stock-style replacement silencer for a little over $ 100.00. It fit great and runs quiet. That was money well-spent.

I just rebuilt a moto-4 over the summer for a guy. the side of the piston was cracked where the wrist pin goes in and it rings were SHOT! they are troopers but they sure are turds! lol
