I just got a blaster, not sure of the year but it's pre 03 for 500$ and a tv, it has a bbk with an additional 1.5mm bore, all weisco internals, new crank too, full rebuild..moose shocks+covers. oil block off kit, reed spacers, full maire plastics, aftermarket pipe not sure of brand, nerfs, raptor tires and rims and all paperwork for rebuild and parts with 2 hours on motor...and I'm sure there's more just have to go through it all tomorrow and will post pics asap..worth it?

how do I up some pics on the thread? and yea checking the jets tomorrow and even leak test it after a professional rebuild from a dealership?

You can copy and paste the IMG code right to your post from Photobucket or another image hosting site. The pic will then pop right up here! I:I

Yes, do a leakdown test even if you just had a pro rebuild! Im a pro mechanic...have been for years...and I still do them. If you didn't do the work yourself, you can only hope it was done right. And we all make mistakes. All it takes is a pinched gasket or an improperly-installed seal (think beat into place with a hammer = crooked install) and you've got an air leak. One air leak, and you're running lean and risking blowing up your fresh engine.

And while many of us want to have faith in dealers, they churn out some pretty lousy repair jobs. Trust me; I work for one. All too often, the techs just don't care or have the time it takes or knowledge to do a job right. Watching my co-workers occasionally botch a job and send it on its way....well, it is what it is. I just do my job right and keep on going.

leak test or your piston may end up like this

lmao the sellers AD is rich. outrageously fast

yea man you got a good one there. i wouldnt care much bout his "modds" and really be happy you got a TITLE with the bike, Thats the sh*t!!!

spend acouple good days on here and you'll learn how to really make that thing insanely quick!!

It's a nice looking quad and depending on the TV, you probably got a good deal but there are some unbelievable things in the listing. It's says it was already upgraded to a 240cc and then it was bored another 1.5mm and a Wiseco piston was used. I think 68.25mm is the biggest Blaster piston Wiseco makes. A BBK starts at 72mm (which is only 232cc on the stock crank) and the claim of 1.5mm bigger on a BBK (72mm + 1.5mm = 73.5mm) is suspect, since 73mm is the biggest piston offered and that's not from Wiseco. The pipe looks like it has the mount for a heat shield, very short stinger and is the right color to be a stock pipe but it's hard to tell from the CL pictures. Stock pipes are easy to identify, just find a picture of one and compare to yours. Blasters have to be the most often misrepresented quad on CL. If it's a fresh rebuild and hasn't yet been damaged from improper break-in, air leaks or poor jetting, I'd say if you're less than $800 into it you're not upside down. If any of the information the seller gave you is wrong, he either knowing lied or just flat out didn't know anything about it. In either case, you can't assume anything. Check compression, jetting and for leaks.

it is deffinatly faster than my stock blaster, I have shop receits from the rebuild and the new parts. it's not insanely or outrageously faster than my stock 01 but the is a noticeable difference. it's got a fmf fatty gold series on, unknown pipe. no air lid. reed spacer. k&n filter, and was adult owned. my tv was worth 478 brand new one year ago 42 in vizio and 500 cash.. that was the best offer he had gotten and he called me back a week after he refused the offer and I picked it up that night

in the picture it was a stock exhaust, I wasn't sure about the silencer on it.. I swapped them both out though

what is that 67.50mm over bore?

stock blaster is 66.00mm piston and can go to 68.00mm and if its at 67.50mm overbore or .60 over that means its on its 6th life right now blasters have 9 lives untill they need to be resleeved each bore you go up .25mm depending on how good of shape the sleeve is in boring out to 67.50mm gives you pretty much no extra power and if its bored .60 over that doesent make it a 260cc quad...
