So I’ve had my 2002 blaster for roughly 5 years. It was a mess when I got it. Drum brakes up front, only one working. Rear didn’t work at all. Steering stem and bars bent. Control arms bent. Tires thrashed, stock worn out suspension. But on a positive note, it started and ran. Had full fmf expansion pipe and silencer. Jetted.

To this day it still runs well, starts well. I have never done an engine rebuild or freshen up. Though I’m starting to get curious about what piston it has, if it’s been bored at all and so on. So I’m thinking this winter I’ll pull a perfectly good running engine apart to see what it’s made of and give it a freshen up.

I made upgrades, some can be seen in my albums.

Repacked silencer
Tors delete +idle screw.
Works shocks/400ex
Boyesen thumb throttle and clutch grip.
Raptor 250 heel guards
Yfz 450r rear hubs
Full hydro brakes
Renthal fat bars
Pro taper clutch controls
Race wiring harness w/ floated stator
Skids front and rear
Yfz450 rear 9” wheels
Oil injection block off
KOR case saver
Vforce 4 reeds
I’m sure there is more, and there will always be more.

What did you run out of things to do to it:D
Gona make something to do.?. Just kidding

Considering it’s getting real hard to find cases, preventive maintenance is getting to be key. Obviously everyone that blew a stock cast piston still ran.
New piston, new bore!!
