Hello every one, I mostly came to this sight because I am looking to buy my 13yr old son a new quad.I was thinking about getting a Blaster but dont no the pros and cons.I have 2006 polaris Phoenix 200cc but just dont like which it doesnt jump because the front of the quad is to heavy and does not have the speed. Any suggestiond for a new quad?

Wht year would you suggest and any sites you preffer or just around town and the sales paper?

any year blaster is good. they are the same except a change is the body style in 2003. they were made form 1987-2006. you can look on craigslist. people are alwayts selling them. great starter to advaned quad.

well if you live in canada quads cost alot more so people bring them in from the states.
But if your in the states best bet would be to look for one locally theres always a blaster forsale.
and the Blaster never changed from 88-02 and in +03 they changed the front nose peice and upgraded the brakes. thats it.

i would highly suggest getting a 03 or newer blaster just because of the brakes the hydro brakes are fantastic!!!!
there have been a few times ive almost wrecked because of how crappy the manual brakes are.
other then that the blaster is an easy quad for starters just make sure you guys keep an eye on the oil level or make sure hes mixing his oil correctly

Blasters are great! my first quad and still my current quad. there are countless upgrades for them. try and get an 03 or higher anything 87-02 have back brake problems. other then that great quads.

How much does a 03 blaster cost? Rignt now Im putting him on my Honda 400EX and he loves it. The Honda is full out racing parts. Im usaully not a Honda guy though

it depends. i have seen them as low as $1300, and as much as $2500, your just gonna have to look around and see what people are asking. also depends on mods they have. be sure to talk them down thou no matter what.

If you get him a blaster, you wont go wrong with your choice. There quick, reliable, and very upgradable, and very cheap to work on. Whats best about the blaster is you can upgrade it to however you like it, and you wont be spending a whole bunch of money. The blasters were actually made from 1988-2006. The only difference between the newer and older model is that the 2003-2006 have the new nose style along with the front and rear hydraulic brakes. 1988-2002 blaster have the older style hood, and they have a big square headlight. These blasters have cable brakes all around but, you can easily change that. Defiantly look into buying one of these machines, you wont go wrong with your choice!

Honestly I got a pretty good deal, I payed 800 and my sh*tty paintball gun worth about 150 for an 04 Blaster that was mint, I have had a 2000 before and like they say the brakes are completely different much worth going with the newer style, but that is up to you. Also you will not go wrong with the Blaster, he will probably love the ability to grow and upgrade it at reasonable prices.

i have both a 400ex and a blaster. while the 400ex is a better machine all around, the blaster is much more fun to ride because its a point and shoot type of machine. all of its power is on top end and will bring a smile to your face when it gets there.

point it where you want to go, nail the gas, and hang on for one heck of a ride. I:I

blasters are a great quad for a beginner on up to anyone, the only con is the factory oil injection pump to put the 2stroke oil in the gas without mixing it yourself is prone to failure and the motor blows up... many people buy a injection block off kit and they premix their on gas at 32:1 ratio
