Every now and then a little sarcastic part of me bubbles up.
I like to keep it suppressed, just have a little giggle to myself and move on,
but this time I thought I'd share:
Yes, proper fuel ratio is 32 parts gasoline for 1 part of oil.
Good complete answer...
yep 32:1 unless your motor is really heavy modified, then you will need to run a little more oil.
Well, this is debatable, but won't lead you too wrong...
So does 80:1 sound right for a 60 bore with more room to go bigger?
Ha! I think this is someone being funny!
I would not Suggest that .
Of course, good answer, but it was a joke Bruce, wasn't it?
i just got this quad, the guy said to run 80 to 1 until its broke in then go 100 to 1!! what do i do?
Now this gotta be a joke?
No, you run 80:1 until it is broke, then go look for another motor!
(80 units of fuel to 1 unit of oil, remember we suggested 32 fuel to 1 oil?)
(you are putting more fuel and less oil)
Thanks guys! now im worried because why would he be running it like that??
could just be lack of knowledge
would that cause it to run funny?
Oh hell yeah!
Lack of knowledge does all kind of crazy things!
Runs into trees cuz of no brakes,
runs loud cuz of no muffler, before the folks nearby shut down the trail,
runs lost, he did't know,
runs on empty, well, not long,
runs out of gear oil, solved the loud problem.
Yeah, all this stuff is funny if your not paying for it, or if your not riding with him!
It would make it smoke like a bandit I:I
Oops! Sheesh Hillbilly! You got caught up on this one! 80:1 is less oil than 32:1, you wouldn't see a trace of smoke.
Myself, I actually run 40:1 or 50:1 with good quality oil. 32:1 sure won't hurt.
Even better, leave the oil injection working, like thousands of snowmobilers do, across the frozen North.
They surely wouldn't take any reliability chances in -30 degree weather.
