i know, im picking one up tomorrow, 16 bucks at the local shop. thanks i just wasnt sure if there were other ways, but id rather not mess up the crank or magneto even tho i have spares, its always good to work smarter and not harder :) ty again

i bought one and still cant get mine off lol

This is the problem i have also whoever worked on this engine before, stripped the threads, I cannot get my new tool to work, Any suggestions??
This is the only thing holding me up from breakin it down and starting the rebuild.

with my motor out laying flywheel up on the bench, i fished a piece of #12 wire thru the one hole around the shaft and out thru the other, wired these to the rafters in my basement holding the whole motor off the bench about
2", so the weight was on the flywheel, then held a peice of 2x4 over the end of the shaft and gave it a couple hard whacks and walla popped right off, make sure your ready so the motor doesnt fall off the bench, worked for me
