Am I the only one who needs to look into getting a pair? During WOT my ears are humming with the exhaust. My helmet doesnt do much good for sound deadening.

Any thoughts on what to use? The usual foam ones suck. I actually get a headache from those since I can now feel myself walk.

I just need something to dull the sound yet allow enough sound so I can still hear the quad and anything surrounding me.

dam idk...get a pair of bose head phones and try that...haha hey wont fit inside prolly but those are the best noise blockers i can think of

see thats another reason I need ear plugs. When I decide to slow down and the speed of sound catches me. Who knows what may happen.

I'm sure it's not just the exhaust you're listening to. On wot my streetbike makes serious intake noise. I know what you mean about the lack of comfort when it comes to ear plugs, I hate wearing them for work sometimes. Just keep trying different kinds of ear plugs, and eventually you'll find that proper fitting ear plugs will actually enhance your hearing of surrounding sounds by deadening out the unwanted motor noise. Very common issue when it comes to riding on the street.

I do a lot of shooting, mainly competition trap shooting. When i was like 12 i got a set of custom molded plugs for like 40 bucks or so. Ive been wearing them since. They are amazing. They mold them inside of your ear, so they fit great. They dont stick out of your ear really at all, so they wont get hung up on a helmet. Usually after i shoot 1-200 rounds my ears feel fine, not really any ringing or anything. I can still hear pretty good with them in, but its really easy to get them out and put in. My dad carries on conversations with his in. They also have some that you can have a hearing aid put in, or headphones for a ipod or something. Ive only seen them at the shoots, but you might be able to find someplace locally. The place that made mine was really the only one at the shoot and they go all over. It doesnt take them long to make, they are cheap, and you can get them in almost any color you want, or a swirl. Thats probably the best thing you can do, and its fairly cheap. The hard part is finding the place to do it.

As for riding with them in I've never needed them. On the sleds the sound has never bothered me. But at truck and tractor pulls, if i remember to, i take mine and wear them. I can still talk to people but it doesnt hurt my ears. I also got mine in a bright orange so when i drop them in the grass i can usually find them.

check you local hunting/gun shop.... all kinds of differant types and styles of ear plugs, and im sure they could help you find something that will work for you and not give you a head ach...

you cant handle the 600.. bring it here and take my blaster home!! problem solved!! :)

I'm not really sure but I guess since they block most the noise out for me then the way I walk it jars my brain or something and I can just feel every step with my ears.

I think I still have the ear plugs I got in the army. They were always a good setup. Could hear fine but knocked out the sound at the rifle range. Hopefully I can find those and give those a try and maybe they will work the best.
