if i get a +3 stroker crank and have the cyl. bored .080 over do i need a bigger carb then stock? trying not to do that if possible
ya. the cylinder i have is already .060 over. i would go .070 but i think the grooves in the walls are too deep.
I am doing the same upgrade just .40 over with an aggressive trail port and I am also putting a 35mm carb in to make up for all the extra fuel and air it will need. you might run into a constant problem of running rich with a stock carb. but that is just a guess. I havent expirienced it yet. still waiting to afford all my parts.
You could talk with Ken O'Connor bout modding your carb or his recommendations. I think he knows flow. I've had some success boring blaster carbs for mild engines. A big carb will work if you plan on major mods in the future but it seems to me if you over carb it's harder to tune.
