if i get a +3 stroker crank and have the cyl. bored .080 over do i need a bigger carb then stock? trying not to do that if possible

ya. the cylinder i have is already .060 over. i would go .070 but i think the grooves in the walls are too deep.

i also believe you could get away with a stock carb, for some unknown reason my buddy nick, (98blaster+4) is running some huge ass jets in his stock carb, like 450 +
so it looks possible to jet a stocker for almost anything???

I am doing the same upgrade just .40 over with an aggressive trail port and I am also putting a 35mm carb in to make up for all the extra fuel and air it will need. you might run into a constant problem of running rich with a stock carb. but that is just a guess. I havent expirienced it yet. still waiting to afford all my parts.

ya im in the same boat. i just picked up a part time job along with full time mechanic and full time student. these parts for the blaster arent all that expensive but it adds up quick with the stuff i want to add to it.

thanks for the reply's. i had the exhaust port smoothed out not sure if that would make much difference. keep comin with the reply's. i really want to keep away from getting a different carb if i can. along with the stroker crank and bored out i have a bills pipe and silencer, v force reeds, and air box lid left on. with that said now what should i do about the carb situation?

the stock one will still function and all, but you'll get a little better performance from a pwk or oko 28-30mm carb.

i wouldnt say ud have to get the bigger crab but i dont think ud be geting the max power i think they shoulda made the blasty come stock with atleast a 28 thats what i run on mine and i hardly have anything done

You could talk with Ken O'Connor bout modding your carb or his recommendations. I think he knows flow. I've had some success boring blaster carbs for mild engines. A big carb will work if you plan on major mods in the future but it seems to me if you over carb it's harder to tune.
IMHO :)

BTW: might chat with member "slickerthanyou" bout oko carbs.

definitely, its always better to be under-carbed than over carbed
