DIY racelogic porting

So I got it running, did my three heat cycles, and took it for a few short rides and did one plug chop n dropped the main jet down from a 400 to a 380. It was great a lil weak on the low end, pulled like hell in the mid range and seemed to flood itself in the top end at wot(but only for a sec). So with n after thought of the compression being low I pulled the cylinder off n took some measurements n found that I need a new piston n a bore job. :( so with no money guess I won't be riding it till I sell all my spare parts to pay for a bore job. Lesson learned the hard way as usual.

sorry to hear bout the needed bore job :(

whaaaaat a 400/380 main ????
what in hell mods do you have that could possibly require that rich of a main jet ?

I still need to plug chop some more to drop it more. I had a 400 in there to be on the safe side for the break in but when riding it would fall on its face at 3/4 to wot so I dropped it two sizes to make it better. Ill add all my mods to my sig shortly

Yeah it was suggested to start with a 400 to be on the safe side. Im expecting to end up in the 350 360 range but that wont be for awhile cause im not riding it till I get it bored. I dont want to risk blowing it up after allthe work ive just done to it

My ghast is flabbered, who in the hell told you to run a #400 main, a #300 or #310 would have done fine.

Leak test before you rip it apart.

Joeak47 told me to start there to be save cause im only at 600 ft elevation n then to plug chop down. He said he was running a 360 main in his. N leak test for what? I knew I needed either rings or a bore job cause that was the only thing I didnt replace, stupid me it should have been the first thing but thanks to ken I will be getting it done soon, he is hooking me right up.

The setup I am running allows a lot more air into the carb throat than yours would and I use a #320 main at sea level and I mix at 25:1.

Yeah I think im going to drop it down to a 350 when I get it back from kor cause when I pulled it apart everything was saturated with oil n my two plug chops barely had a smoke ring. We will see what happens then hahahahahaha (in n evil tone)

Stick with stock timing or chance detonation.

I reverted back to stock when I fitted the re chambered head, even though I use 98 octane gas.

So I got my cylinder back from kor and got it all back together and running great. Took it out for its first ride today and the ass dyno says hold on tight or u will lose ur grip. And at first I was worried that I wouldn't get to see what its really worth due to no sustained wot for the first two tanks, but let me tell you you really don't need wot cause half to 3/4 is so much power and so impressive. The new head and the diy porting that I did made a world of difference.

Yeh, porting will change your engine... Thats the next thing i plan on, or head mod

What exactly is the ass dyno? i never figured it out lol

Well a dyno machine gives u accurate performance n power output n HP the ass dyno is just a guestamate on the increase in performance n power n the difference

good to hear you got it running right now, and your DIY porting has the assdyno grinning from ear to ear !

time to drop that main jet down into the 320-300 range and plug chop

I talked to ken and I pit a 310 in for the heat cycles and I'm breaking it in a lil before I plug chop, I only got about 3 hours on it so far. And my grin is so big it reaches from state line to state line Lol
