so ive been reading and seen some blasters with cr125 reed cages and i was wandering if you guys knew anything about them. what mods it takes to make it fit and how hard it is. also are there any benefits over blaster reed cages? let me know what you think

^ the 89-92 cr125s used a 4 bolt reed cage it was only slightly wider... you have to grind the intake out and trim some of the metal and reeds for it to fit. im just wandering if its that much better than my vforces or if its even worth it

im telling u it wont fit the stock jug without using like a 1/2 to 3/4 inch spacer as they sit way deeper in the jug

well im sure if u go to all that trouble there would be some kind of gain. probably not the extent u would see with a ct jug though

well its a vitos 240 kit and ported... so it will be close... i figure if i can get a cheep cage from ebay maybe ill just try it and post a DIY and if it really works ill sell my vforces and buy some vforces for my new set up

im suer u will see some kind of gain then as they flow alot more than a stock or vf3 blaster reed cage

This is what i run. I can tell you i have run stock cage with aftermarket petals, vforce 3, and the cr125 cage. The vforce was crap compared to what i got out of the cr cage. I can turn more rpm with the cr cage. Its a nice little mod that not many people know about, IMO its worth it, but thats just me. Alone its not gonna knock your socks off, but with everything i have done, Ive beaten a stock crank CT 240 blaster in the 1/8, and In 300ft i could almost hang with hobbyhorses old CT 244 drag blaster.

wat all did you have to do to make it fit... and is it hard

colby did it for me years back when i sent him my jug to get ported, its not hard, just more time consuming, with the amout of material you have to gind away to widen the intake..then you just need to make yourself a reed spacer.

hey man thanks for all the help... i tried to throw you some green but it said i must spread some around before i give to you again blah blah blah... ill hit ya again down the road

i'll be looking forward to seeing that, i'm gonna be looking to upgrade my reed cage setup over the winter
