so my computer is FREAKING slow!!! the computer its self is... 8? 10? years old.. maybe idk.. its got windows xp allways has and stil does... about 2 years ago the harddrive crashed 3 times, my mom took it in the first time to a cp shop here, 3 months later crach 2 3 months later crash 3, than she said fk it and bought a custom built cp from them, and this one sat in her spare bedroom,
she gave it to my wife and i this spring, i bought a brand new 60 gig? 80? hard drive from best buy, it work fine. for forums, surfing, pictures and what bot. but vidies are really slow, you tube isnt so bad, but some vids are sketchy, like they will start to play than stop, and it waits tel the red load bar is up further than start. same with photobucket, not all but some do it.
when i bring up the task manager when playing a vid the cpu usage is at 100% or close to it, will bounce between 90-100% .. only task thats using cpu usage is firefox..
how can i make this thing faster? so videos play smooth with out stopping or 'freeze framing' not sure what its called but its like when a cd skips
BTW i have 5 meg cable internet
