I'll start. I'm a small engine tech by career, so most of these are related to my job. I'll snap a couple pics here and there with my Droid when I see something noteworthy come in the shop.

Thoroughly moused-over air filter from a Kohler Courage engine

Smashed Briggs and Stratton air filter

A very-nearly lethal (it almost caught fire) mouse nest in a Briggs OHV engine. They got the ignition coil wire as well

More rodent havoc. The Polaris in the background also had a blown engine, but I didn't get any good pics of it. Just a melted piston, really.

Whoops! Something went 'Bang' inside this hydraulic pump...

...Turns out the swashplate bearing carrier failed. Spectacularly.

I guess I don't know my own strength.

A cylinder forgot to wipe its butt. Today's bad gas makes things ugly really quickly.

Brand-new (fewer than 5 hours old) Cub Cadet drive pulley failure. Junk.

Here's some more:

Thrown rod in a Kohler Courage V-twin. These engines are a POS if you ask me.

What happens when you run your chainsaw out of bar oil and fail to keep the chain properly-tensioned? This:

This one got a laugh out of all the techs in the shop. Briggs and Stratton primer bulb in a Stihl weedeater. Nice. Never seen anything like this before.

Ouch!

Obliterated governor gear in a Kohler Command V-twin. These don't usually fail, so this is an extreme case.

Just when you think you've seen worn-out piston rings....there's this! This Honda engine was on a Wacker vibrating soil packer, and it had sucked in years of dust particles while on the job with a neglected air filter. No wonder it only had 25# compression.

The classic grab bar erection we all dread. It finally got my Blaster, too, when I let an inexperienced buddy of mine try his hand at riding it. Although...and you can ask scotj77...it was worth the bent bar for the laugh we all had.

AND, here's why I no longer groom dogs in the house. Yes, all that fur came from one pooch. Not the one in the pic with my wife.

This is what happens when someone rides a motorcycle without gearlube in the middle gearbox.

It wasn't on my bike. I just fixed it for him.

The bike fell over in the barn over winter. All the gear lube must have leaked out of the vent. He went for a ride in spring and locked up the rear tire solid.

OUCH , Bet that was an Eventful Sudden stop , I seen Someone have there Carrier bearings lock up while on a Dirt/Gravel Road , And Luckily It was a dirt/gravel road , it locked up and Started drifting and Right into the Ditch he went , Think it was a late 80's 250X forward kick honda .
