shame its not a chevy. hahaha great truck!! atleast you have the right quad and sled. lol rangers are cool trucks. although i think im going to stick with my 98 silverado
I prefer a manual, its so much fun to drive lol I took the scenic route home with it. I'm not really picky about brands, they all have their problems and things I like about them, this was just the best deal I could find, I'm happy with it.
look on ford ranger forum, people have done 5.0 swaps AND 5.4 swaps... not sure if there have been any bigger, i'm pretty sure the biggest on there i seen was a 5.4

i should have found that info before buying this one, although i only paid a little over half of it's blue book value
this tranny started acting up 1 month after i got it, slipping bad on the 3-4 shift under load, which is why i didnt make it to busco,
they're known for the valve body gasket blowing out, an easy fix, but not my problem
i used the seafoam tranny treatment, and changed the fluid twice, it now seems to be working good ?????
the tranny shop wanted $1700 to rebuild, i found reman'd ones on ebay, out of arizona, with a 24 mth. warranty, and all the known bugs fixed, for $700
That $1700 rebuild is probably that $700 trans they use. A fast swap that is less then the time it will take them to rebuild it plus they get money for the core. They will still charge for the time it takes for a rebuild.
