Bought it from a friend today. Rode it for an hour or two and went inside, came out to ride five minutes later and it started with some difficulty but no to bad and road for about 20 yards and it just died? spark, gas, oil is all fine.

Also, there is a line coming from the bottom back of the carbeurator and pretty long, but not connected to anything?

i think reeds, but clean carb, and check all the wires from stator to cdi! i had that happen to me where the wire is just touching, and sparks, but wont start or anything. kinda weird. but check all them

airleak could have caused detonation, but look for other things first!. and the line on the back of carb is for overflow.

clean carb good and if you have the option and resources test the compression. Also check your reeds. what your looking for is cracks, frays, holes, not sealing properly, etc.

also did it bog out or just shut off and die?

If it has oil injection, could it have run out of oil and not been bled properly.

Has the oil injection pipe fallen off of the nipple on the carb.

Did the motor lock up.

Will it still turn over.

Did you use premix in the tank with oil injection.

What oil are you using.

Is the airbox lid on.

What is the compression PSI.

Pull the pipe off and look up the exhaust port to see if the piston and rings are damaged.

This could be silly, but is the spark plug wire loose or does it snap on good and tight? It could've fallen off or lost connection...my lawn mower does that quite often, works fine until it gets hot enough to melt the zip tie keeping the plug wire on. Like I said, it could be silly, but it is something quick and easy to check. From there, all the above advice is definitely nothing short of valid...we need to know though, how did it die?

sorry for not replying. Turns out it was a wrong spark plug and it fouled really fast.
He had a Br9es on and i replaced it with Br8es and no problems
